The answer will always be a multiple of 9 - and all the symbols for multiples of 9 are the same.

the symbols change each time, so even though you get a different number or a differnt symbol, the computer will always know it will be the symbol assigned to the multiples of nine.

it doesn't matter because the symbol is the same for ALL multiples of nine.

hehe i got that link a few weeks ago and it had me SO frustrated! lol but the explanation given earlier on this thread was much easier to follow than the one i got! thanks

AHHHH first i was going to say it doesn't have the same symbol for all multiples of 9 because i've gotten differrent symbols. BUT the symbols change each turn. So you can get different symbols, but the multiple of 9 ones will still always be the same.

No, anna! This mind reader had me puzzled for a little while. I couldn't leave the web page until I figured it out.

Whenever you take a two digit #, add the digits together and then subtract from the original number, you will end up with a multiple of 9 (9, 18, 27, etc).

Check out the symbols for the multiples of 9. They are all the same!

Each time you play, the symbols change, but the multiples of 9 are always represented by the same symbol.

Now that makes sense !! That they are all the same symbol... I did catch on that the symbols change, but didnt realize all the multiples of 9 had the same symbol !!
