Ok, we still have not figured out what to do for our honeymoon.
Some people have mentioned we should go to Boston and I figured if we do we can go to Salem as well.
Others mentioned Rhode Island is nice; we can go look at all the mansions, etc.
If anyone has been to either places, please let me know some nice, romantic places to stay and things to definitely do?

let me see if I can help at all! I've never vacationed in Rhode Island, but my parents went there for a few days and had a nice time. Of course I can't remember the hotel, it probably wasn't that romantic though. They did enjoy going through all the mansions and seeing the sites.
However, I used to live in Boston, so I know a little more about that town. I don't know any romantic Inns or anything like that, but there are plenty of nice hotels downtown. There is also a lot to do. There are duck tours around the city, going into Quincy Market, the North End (Little Italy), The aquarium, Museum of ********, following the red trail on the sidewalk (of course I can't remember the name of the trail!) that takes you through all the historical sites downtown. Taking a stroll through Boston Commons or down by Fenway, down to Harvard Square or around the Charles River. Of course that's all I can think of right now! HTH!! Good luck deciding!

I haven't been, but FH has been to Salem and says it's really really fun. If you're into haunted houses and stuff it's definitely the place to go!

we went to Newport RI. we loved it!!!
we stayed at the Hyatt on Goat island.. BEAUTIFUL!! the rooms were great!!! very sea like.. blue and white!!
you can do tours of the mansions - which you HAVE to see!!
the cliff walk is gorgeous, we went in april so the flowers werent all bloomed but i bet its even prettier now
the best resturant.. The Red Parrot.. they have a 20 pg menu in a binder! they have everything but there are clam chodar places and etc.
there are also stores and little shops, very nice to walk around. very relaxing
lots of little shops there too.. the beach is down a couple blocks.. great places to eat, great to just walk around too!

I went to school in Boston and I absolutely love the city and my in-laws have a house in Newport, so I know both areas well. For your HM though I would definitley recommend Newport. i just think it's a little bit more romantic. But they're both pretty close to each other so you could spend a night or two in Boston and a few days in Newport and get the best of both worlds.

Boston and Rhode Island are both really nice! Newport RI would probably be more relaxing, depends on what u really want to do.
We stayed at the Francis Malbone House (bed and breakfast) in Newport - AWESOME AWESOME food!!! The house is really cozy (every room with fireplace) and the main areas (living room, tea room) are just fabulous. You'd love it there!
Definitely check out The Breakers! Of all the mansions we checked out, I think this one is the most impressive. Also, I'm sure you will drive along Ocean drive - the view is gorgeous!
What month were u guys thinking?

My vote is for Newport, RI! I lived there for 4 yrs it is beautiful and romantic. Like others have said you can tour the mansions, have dinner by the water, walk and shop in Newport.

Definately reccommend Newport, RI!! It is absolutely Gorgeous!!!
That's where we are getting married. It has everything there...the beaches are incredible, and there are old mansions which are absolutely breathtaking and very historic. Some that movies have been filmed in

While in Newport, check out these places:
Atlantic Beach Club, where DH & I met & got engaged Its a daytime beach bar/ restaurant with live music. VERY laid back ABC
Scales & Shells for dinner. This is where DH & I had our first date Scales & Shells
Also try 22 Bowens, where we had our engagement dinner 22 Bowens Wharf
For brunch, you want to go to Castle Hill . Castle Hill

I was going to say this too.I'm going this weekend YAY....It will probably be a little quiet in Oct. but Boston isn't too far and there's Martha's Vineyard and other places.

There is a ferry from Rhode island to Martha's Ferry. You can do a day trip if you'd like.
