NOW, here is the 1st Question of the Year:
Lets Share our Proposal Stories!! When & Where did he propose? DId your family know? Best of all....share any pictures you have of your proposal (if any) AND pics of YOUR RING!!
I knew we would be getting engaged soon, we had spoke about it and I had gone with him to look at stones, I figured it would happen around the holiday's. I actually thought I had figured out when he was going to pop the question, I even went as far to make a hair and nail apt, of course he proposed two weeks sooner than I anticipated! lol We had gone away for the weekend with my best friend and his wife to Philly to go to the 'Terror behind the Wall' a former prison which is said to be haunted. We had a great weekend but by Sunday I was ready to go home, I was starting a new job the following day and wanted some time to decompress. That Sunday morning he had a surprise delivery of flowers and a teddy bear sent to our room. I had assumed it was because of my new job. On our way home we stopped for breakfast, then while driving through NJ we stopped at Mount Mitchell this beautiful park that overlooks the New York seaboard. Between to breathtaking view and the foliage changing colors it was just perfect. We walked around for a bit and FH was acting very unusual, I actually thought he was breaking up with me! lol At one point I went to sit on a bench and when I turned back to him he was down on one knee. It was perfect! I was so happy our friends share in our engagement with us and they took amazing pictures!
We were in Atlantic City for the weekend. I had been suspecting it but everytime i thought it was going to happen of course it didnt. The day came we had a fight about him taking forever to propose while we were at the pool at Harrahs. So of course i was annoyed at that point. He said 'well talk about it when we get home but lets just enjoy are last night here please' so i gave him the cold shoulder and said fine. We went back to the room and got ready for dinner but when we got to the place there was like an hour wait so we decided to just get something on the boardwalk instead. So off we went. As we were walking on the boardwalk I wanted to take a picture of the carnival they had going on from the pier so we had walked down this pier, i started taking pictures and when i turned around he was down on his knee with the ring, it was in a lighted box. It was just amazing the moonlight reflecting off the water and the light on the box just lit up the ring perfectly. It was funny cause i set it up completly for him and to make it even funnier as we were walking on the pier an older coupld had said to us 'its all yours' like they knew what was going to happen!
I dont have any pics of the ring yet i havent even thought of taking one lol
FH had so many plans but I had surgery and was limited on the things I could do. We've spoke about it so I knew it was coming but just didn't know when.
We were going to see the tree but I couldn't walk for long so he finally popped the ? on Xmas Eve @ my parents house.
He used one of these bottles & programmed it to say Will You Marry Me
FH took me to the Bronx zoo which was one of our frist dates so its tradition that we go there every year in sept or oct. I had no idea it was going to happen i was just starting my vacation from my second job so i was just excitted to be at the zoo, we went to the world of brides exhitibit he asked me if we would want to go to the top for something different so i said yes even though i still had no idea when we got to the top some birds were flying around i was taking pictures my back was to him so he said' hey turn around' so i did and he asked me to marry him i was so shocked that i was speechless, the only person who knew was his mom because the ring belonged to her because it is from his biloogrical dad, the ring was the ring his dad who he never met because he died before he was born gave his mom.
FH proposed at the beach at our little 'spot' we have been going for the last several years. I knew it was coming in the sense that we have been together since we were 14 and always planned it lol but the day itself was a shock! he set up a little picnic, we went for a stroll, then he got down on 1 knee :) it was perfect love your stories ladies!!

So, my story goes: My younger sister was pregnant and we were throwing her a baby shower so we all headed over to my mother's house the night before to prepare for the party... as I was wrapping last minute gifts my FH was calling me into the living room where my entire family was waiting... when I walked in he started saying all these beautiful things to me (in front of everyone, lol) and got down on 1 knee and propsed... I was hysterically crying and had NO idea he was planning on proposing! He had lost his job and I knew he didn't have any money for a ring so I figured I would have to wait a few more years... well, his mother offered to give him his great, great aunts engagement ring and now we are engaged!
My FH and I will be together 9 years this April, so I waited a LONG time!!!
My family and his family knew for a while,. My mom works at a jewelry store so he met my sister and my mom there to pick out the ring. He had gotten a brick at Citifield which said Mara Harvey Will you Marry Me. We had planmned on going to the Mets v. Phillys game with FH's brother and sister in law. The night before he told me that he spoke with my sister and she was going to be at the same game so she will meet us to tailgate. After we tailgated we were on our way to see the brick that they had for his mother (so I thought). He brought me to the brick and proposed.
Then we met his other brother and sister in law in the city and we all went to dinner at our favorite place. He got a room at the Waldorf Astoria for us to stay! It was a perfect night. Although I do have to say that I am glad I knew that we were staying over in the city all along (I thought we were staying with the brother and sister in law) because I was jumping on the bed before we went to dinner(yeah I know real mature) and I ended up breaking one of my straps on my dress! But I had another outfit to change into!

I'll be the odd bride out...FH is still planning his 'Official proposal' to me.
We just kinda decided we were getting married, but he still tells me and everyone else Im still his girlfriend because he hasnt gotten down on one knee and given me a ring.
Let's just start off by saying I was totally surprised! FH has always said he would never ask me around a holiday...
It was December 17th 2010..and I was recovering from a broken foot from back in October and STILL on crutches (which ruined his plan to take me to NYC and the tree, which was where I had always dreamed of it being). I was feeling stressed about alot and he offered to 'have a nice evening for us to help take my mind off things'.
He picked me up after work (can't drive bc of my foot), took me back to his house and had 50 red and white roses in a vase in the kitchen. They were beautiful! Thought it was a little extreme for a night of trying to make me feel better but I just brushed it aside. He then made a whole bunch of great food for dinner, and after dinner by our tree, decided to give me 'an early Christmas present' and brought out a wrapped gift box from his room and set it on the couch beside me.
Curious, I went to go open it but he stopped me to say that FIRST, he wanted to do something. He got down on one knee at that moment, told me he loved me and asked me to marry him. I said 'yes' and he reached into his pocket and took out a ring box with this in it!
My FH and I got engaged in Cabos San Lucas Mexico. We had been together for about 5 years. He told my family a few days before (he was afraid my mom would ruin it if she knew too long!). It was the first night of our vacation. FH had wrapped the ring in a tissue in his pocket to go through airport security, and apparently was freaking out the entire trip! Once we got to the hotel I wanted to run to the pool and the poor guy didn't know where to hide the ring and couldn't put it in the safe since I put our passports and cash in it already. I think he ended up hiding it in his suitcase. Once we got back from the pool and had already had a few drinks he proposed in our room as the sun went down. He was supposed to do it the next day but just couldn't take the stress of carrying around the ring anymore. PS he dropped the ring when he tried to take it out of his suitcase and stay on his knee!
We went away the week before our 5 years to celebrate. We took a 'simple' weekend for Montauk. He planned everything so thoughtful, drove me to and from work on Friday so that we could get to Montauk earlier..took me shopping..for beach walks..made me breakfast in bed etc. Friday night we went for a beach talk and were talking about marriage and proposals (brought up by me telling him about a girl that i knew that recently got engaged) he laughed it off by saying, yea everyone has their time. I asked him when he thought our time would be and he said, after you finish grad school (another year) and have a full time job (at that point i was just subbing). I said okay because I was satisfied with waiting a year or two..knew the wait would be worth it. Saturday day we went to the beach after he made me breakfast. After being there for a while he said he had to go upstairs to go to the bathroom. He was gone a while..i questioned him when he got back and he said i was getting stuff together to go out..lets go shopping. we went straight out shopping and got dinner, apps and dessert after. we brought it back to the room to my surprise when i walked in there were rose petals all over the floor...candles on the counters..a table set up with a place setting and flowers..and a huge heart flower petal designed on the bed. I asked him why he did all this and he smiled and said, i wanted to show you how much you mean to me and i didnt get you a present for our 5 years just this weekend so i wanted to make it special i smiled and we ate dinner and drank. after we were finishing dessert, he said im going to get another drink..knelled down for the drink and came up with the ring!!!
