We didn't do it and no one missed it! I don't like any of that stuff....so it was a no brainer

I'm not doing either. I think it's an awkward tradition that no one really enjoys. I'd rather have everyone continue dancing and having fun!

we didn't do it either, nor did we do toasts, BP intro or cake cutting. Everyone actually commented on how they loved that the party just kept going instead of stopping for all of the little things that they don't care about anyway.

We did toasts, and I think each one (Maid of Honor and Best Man) was under 2 minutes, so since everyone was siitting for cake anyway, it wasn't a huge deal. I loved that they kept them short!

Re: Bouquet toss and garter
We didnt do it. We didnt want to take away time from dancing. Also since we had only 21 and older..pretty much everyone was already partnered up so it was pointless.

Don't think we're going to do this... FMIL is really pushing for it though since it's 'tradition'

Re: Bouquet toss and garter
I agree with everyone's reasonings, but also my people will all be older and most likely in a relationship. My good friend just did it at hers and literally had THREE guys out for the garter, so awkward.

Re: Bouquet toss and garter
I defiantly will. I think it's fun and a got a really cute garter that I want people to see. When I was single I loved going up there and battling the other girls. Finally I caught one after sliding on the floor for it and 1 week later I got engaged!

Re: Bouquet toss and garter
We are definitely not doing to bouquet toss and garter. No one misses it. You basically have to pull the girls out of their chairs to stand there and try to catch the bouquet.
In lieu, it is my parents 40th anniversary 10 days after our wedding so we are going to have them dance to their wedding song. We haven't figured out yet how we are going to incorporate everything without losing the flow of the evening.
