IMO: I do not like see Bms when they are dressed up showing tatoos on their arms- I think it takes away from 'the look'.
What do u think?

IMO, I cannot ask someone to coverup their tattoo. I asked them to be in my wedding the way they are and would feel awful to ask them to change 'alter' their appearance for my wedding. Again, it's just my opinion!
Agreed

I think if you have tattoos you don't mind and if you don't then you do mind. I'm loosing my mind! But I dig tattoos. I'm all about the person on the inside.
good theory, but I don't have any tattoos, and I don't mind them showing... so there goes that one!

I did not care about that. I would NEVER ask my girls to cover up their tattoos, it is part of who they are,......that is JMHO

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....
Now this is just Cee's opinion or question no need to get nasty...to have a tattoo showing is not tacky or rude I have one and I'm quite secure with with my self if it does show. I would not ask a BM to cover their tattoo it part of who they are and I asked them to be in my BP with their tattoo so i have to respect that. If one of my BM's have a disfiguring scar on their arms would I not include her because of that no...she's obviously my friend thats why i asked her to be in BP.
For the pictures the person can be positioned to so the arm of the tattoo does not show or there is so much technology out there that it can be airbrushed out of your pictures. No Biggie...

Good point on technology. I agree with you and Cee already knows my position on this. The comment was rude though.

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....
I think everyone has their own personality and opinions. I have a tattoo on my lower back that is not visible in most clothing. I personally wouldn't want a very visible tattoo, but if I had BM's that had them, I wouldn't ask them to cover them up. They are who they are and you have become friends with them with or without the tattoos. Leave it up to them.

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....
I went to a wedding in may, where the bride and moh had matching tattoos on their backs....I know the bride took a few pictures of them before the wedding with the tattoos as is....they both then covered them because she did not want the tattoo sticking out in all of her pictures. she loves her tattoo and it's a part of her, but she felt as though it took away from the class of her wedding
personally I agree. I would consider asking someone to cover one in a tactful way, but if it came down to a fight over it, I would not let it get in the way of anything and ignore it

I'm not a fan of tattoo's myself but I don't know if I would ask my BM to cover it up. I do know that if I did ask and she said no I wouldn't push the subject.

I have several tattoos, most aren't noticable with everyday where but i think 3 will be noticable in my wedding dress, I have no intent on covering them up, its like covering up a part of you. I dont think people will look at the pictures and be like 'ooh, is that a tatoo there, they will be like, oh wow that is a beautiful dress or your hair is amazing, not i think i see the corner of a butterfly.'
I could not imagine asking anyone to cover up their tattoos, and can you really cover them up that much so they dont show?
Anyway, I dont think tattoos take away from the pictures.
My MOH and I also have matching tattoos which i totally forgot about but we'll def have to take a picture with them showing (they are hearts on the back of our necks)

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....
Asking someone to change their appearance to be a bridesmaid is out of line.
One person's 'gross' is another person's work of art.
If pictures are the true concern, then there is always Photoshop.
Presumably the people a bride asks to stand up for her on her wedding day are people she cares for. Therefore she should care enough to respect the physical appearance of a potential bridesmaid and consider their feelings. There is a very good chance that they may take someone asking them to change their appearance as 'I don't like the way you look and I am embarrassed by you'.
In the end, it is up to the bride to decide what is more important - having someone stand up for you, or having pictures of un-tattooed bridesmaids?

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....
My SIL has many tattoos, she didn't cover them at her wedding or in my mine, here are what they looked like and I don't think it was tacky.
Why don't you all crucify me for having an opinion.
A wise person once told me 'Opinions are like @$$ - holes, Everyone's got one'
Sorry to offend anyone, I personally don't like the way a tattoo would show for a wedding. I personally don't think it looks nice. Sue Me..

I do not like it either...one of my BMs has a tattoo on her chest and it looks horrible...I am actually planning my BM dress on if it covers it or not...unless by some miracle I end up not having to have her in our wedding...LOL (she is my FSIL and FH & I are not big fans)

To each it's own and I know that tattoos mean a lot to people who have them, but in my wedding pictures, I would rather not visibly see them.
If they are on the ankle or something like that ok, but arms, I would ask to cover it up as much as possible.
I agree also. IMO it would depend upon the type and where.

TAcky and Rude is very strong and harsh given that we are surrounded by a generation with tattoos and piercings which for whatever reason mean something to the person that has them...no one is crucifying you for your opinion I have mine too...but your delivery is a bit off A wise person once told me:

why can't I have an opinion. that's all it is. if anyone doesn't like it, so be it. people are allowed to speak their minds. get over it.
