BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....

Original post by MrsMichel07

on how they look in pictures?

IMO: I do not like see Bms when they are dressed up showing tatoos on their arms- I think it takes away from 'the look'.

What do u think?

Why don't you all crucify me for having an opinion.

A wise person once told me 'Opinions are like @$$ - holes, Everyone's got one'

Sorry to offend anyone, I personally don't like the way a tattoo would show for a wedding. I personally don't think it looks nice. Sue Me..

Wow, you girls are really something...the better way to say that would have been 'I do not like that way that looks' not 'it is tacky and gross'

that comment is TACKY

haven't we seen enough already

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....

Here's something to think about....

I have 3 tattoos, 1 of which would have been visible with my wedding gown.

I chose to cover it for my brother's wedding, because I knew it bothered my SIL. Since the dress hid most of it, it came out okay.

However, my wedding gown was another story. The entire thing was showing. And I chose to cover it up not just because I didn't want it to show in my pics but because DH's family is Jewish, so I thought I should hide it even though they are fully aware that I have them.

Let me tell you, I should never have bothered covering it up. The makeup covering it looked worse than my tattoo would have. That is actually one of my regrets...that I bothered to cover it. It's part of who I am and to hell with what others thought.

However, this whole thread now reminded me that I need to ask the bride whose wedding I am in if she wants me to cover it up since it might show. If she asks me to I will not get offended, it's her day, not mine.

personally i think you're a complete idiot for saying that. obviously in my pictures i have 2 full sleeve tattoos and i take that highly offensive. to me thats more offensive than the stupid battles of if the reception halls are gross and cheap. its a part of me. its who i am.

and to anyone that thinks its not the right 'look' for a wedding, then you're superficial. why do you want your wedding to be like everyone elses? if you care so much if someone has a tattoo, then you need to think about if you really care about the people in your wedding party and on top of that, look at the type of person you are. i just think this is ridiculous and shouldnt be an issue. i could go off alot more but im not going to.

this is all just bull ****

Ok... I have been avoiding the topic all day but some people keep finding the need to bring it back to the top...

XFinallyX... MsMichele07 did not criticize you in the least... she is asking for opinions... Since Cherese is my girl... I need to defend...

You have NO right to call her an idiot or superficial... And you yourself look like a effen idiot for doing so..

I am sorry to go off... But this is an open forum which you can more then willing post your opinion... But you have no such right to post something negative about someone else on here who you don't even know.

Get over yourself.

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....

i was more saying it to the other girl than mrsmichele.
and im not the one saying all of this stuff about people with tattoos so i dont look like the idiot.

and it IS superficial to say something like that and feel that way.

and saying i should get over myself is just hilarious. im not the one being judgemental.

Oh ok... Sorry... You didn't say any names so I just thought you were replying to the original post.

Sometimes you should just read what you write before you post... It could come across very rude... I was just trying to defend my girl. Thats all.

So... Don't get over yourself.

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....

i appreciate that but alot of people on here came across rude, and this is a sore subject with me. i get stared at and basically hissed at by most people when im out and its just rude and unnecessary. i dont stare at people because they're ugly or any other reasons. its like the same as people staring at someone cause they have something wrong with them. its absolutely rude but i try to give them a taste of their own medicine and stare at them back and they feel uncomfortable. i'm a really sweet person and it irks me that people feel this way over some ink. the tattoos actually mean something to me and represents who i am. and i just dont understand why you would want someone you obviously care about to cover who they are

I loved that!!!

Point well taken... but I was just trying to say if you orginally came on the thread and wrote what you just wrote... You totally sound like a sweet girl... but you came on blasting other girls...

Whatever... I think you are a sweet girl... and sorry for retaliating. I do understand... lots of people discriminate for all sorts of reasons... wheather it being Tattos... or even being a specific race... you don't think FH and I get starred at when we go out... Its sick and its 2006... but you learn to live with it... and thats what makes you a better person.

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....

see thats a perfect example. i think theres absolutely nothing wrong with interracial couples as well as gay couples but some idiots do have problems with it. but i shouldnt really blame them, i blame their parents and their parents' parents. racism and stuff like that usually comes from their parents feeding it down their throat. its the same as someone's father loving the mets, for the most part, his children are gonna love the mets. wow im going way off topic haha.

and i only blasted people cause of the tacky comment and because people are saying its not the right 'look'
sorry if i offended you

I really could care less. My sister has tattoos and they don't bother me. It's who she is and I can't complain. I want everyone to be who they are in my wedding party not some fake covered up ..whatever. JMHO

Re: BP & Tattoos: What is you opinion....

Here is my take as a soon to be bride with a very heavily tattooed bridesmaid (XFINALLYX - my 'sister' by relationship, my niece by blood.)

She has two full sleeves of tattoos (and one huge leg one, too) they are very colorful and eye-catching. They are beautiful work, and I often grab her arms and twist and turn them so I can better stare at them. The difference is, I stare at them so I can look at her art - not so I can judge her.

Obviously, people will stare at a heavily tattoed person. They might even talk about it. It is unusual. It is not 'strange' but it is 'different' and unfortunately, people often stare at 'different' things.

Will this stop me from having her stand up with me on my wedding day? Absolutely not. I love her and I wouldn't have it any other way.
