Now that I have a few BM dresses in mind for the girls to go try on and them pick the one I have been thinking about their overall look. Although I have a few concernes on is that I do not want girls to have their tattos out (I am getting married in church, half my family is jews and IMO it looks trashy) is it rude to say we need to pick a dress that covers everyones tats or whoever has a tat sticking out needs to get it covered?
I would appreciate your advice and oppinions, thanks!

Re: BP & Tattos
I think it depends on where the tats are and how many there are. I know basic conceller doesn't cover tats. There are professional kits sold in dance catalogs and online and stuff but i think they are $$. (the good one's anyway).
I have 6 bridesmaids and 3 Have tattoos. 1 has tattoos EVERYWHERE (back, legs, arms, wrists, by the ear). So it's impossible for me to find a dress to cover them all. I'm not asking anyone to cover them up and i'm having a full mass at a church. These same girls also have facial piercings (eye brow, nose, chin, full ear up and down). I MIGHT ask them to take out the eyebrow, nose (it's not a stud), and chin.

I agree with you not wanting to see their tattoos. But maybe the makeup artist can use airbrush to conceal it? That way you are not limited on a dress you like.

honestly, I wouldn't ask the girls to cover their tattoos. I mean if you happen to pick a dress that does cover it then thats one thing, but i wouldnt tell them they have to have the tattoos covered. The tattoos are part of who they are and you knew they had them when you asked. I dont have any tattos but some of my bm's do and I wouldnt ask them to hide them. jmo

If the tattoo(s) are large and in places that would be photographed in all pictures, like their arms, I would have them covered up. If they are small, or on their wrists, shoulders, or back I wouldn't bother.

Re: BP & Tattos
i was going to post about this.
my co-worker just got married & all you see in her pics are tattoos. i personally don't like the way it looks. they stick out like a saw thumb.
i have this issue with my SIL. for her 30th birthday my brother bought her a tattoo. on the back of her shoulder, she has her three kids names & a butterfly. lovely gift, huh?? we went to a family party once & she wore a black halter dress & all you saw was her tattoo.
the day after i told my mom that she has to go shopping with her because i don't want to see that on my photos & video. my mom completely agreed with me. i am paying all this money to have keepsakes & i don't want to see that.
this also goes for my brother who's arms are completely covered in tattoos. he has to wear a long sleeve shirt.

Sorry I did not start this post to offend anyone
I think it has to do with personal style and tastes. I do not have any tats and FH and I are having a very traditional wedding and our families are both very old school. Therefore people who have tats and want them shown at their wedding as a reflection of them is a total different thing IMO and something I 100% respect.

If the tat's are raunchy in anyway I would be concerned but if their not, I wouldn't worry. As long as you don't have any showing in the church I think you are fine (due to religious reasons, not personal preferance). The church can't dictate who you ask to be in your BP based on tat's.
If you're really worried I know make up artists can cover them with airbrush. But I wouldn't sacrafice a pretty BM dress just to satisfy covering the tat.

We are having a traditional wedding also in a greek church. People get tattoos because its a part of them. You cant ask someone to cover them up, well i guess you can but i think thats RUDE!

Re: BP & Tattos
theres a tattoo cover kit sold at davids bridal.. no idea how good it works, but its probably affordable.
if the girls are getting their makeup done then see if the makeup artist can cover exposed tats.

Re: BP & Tattos
No one in my bp has a tattoo, so I'm not sure what i'd do... BUT, I think that if I had that situation I wouldn't ask them to cover it up. If it bothered me that much I probably shouldn't have asked the person to be in my bp. But that's all hypothetical. Instead of asking them to cover it, why don't you approach them in a different way - like saying 'The dress I picked might show a lot of your tattoos, if you wanted to cover them, I have some ideas...' Or something like that. I have a tattoo and I wouldn't want it to show in my pics, but I chose a dress that fully covers it.

same here lol i love these tattoo threads.
tattoos are part of who someone is. if you didnt like the tatts perhaps you shouldnt have asked them to be in your BP then. go ahead and ask them to have them airbrushed but dont be surprised if it turns into a blow out. to be honest i would be a lil offended if someone asked me to do that. if you are used to seeing this person everyday with their tattoo and then all of a sudden in photos the tatt is missing..thats gonna look weird, its not gonna look like what she normally does. its just a tattoo..its not that big of a deal...in the grand scheme of things it just seems so petty to me to even stress oevr something like this
