BP & Tattos

Re: BP & Tattos

My BM as well as myself all have them!!!!

I will be covering mine bcuz I want too...

The grls will be covering theirs as well and I am paying for the airbrush...if they had an issue with covering them I wouldnt care if they didnt.
(I wouldnt force them to do it)

Tattoos dont make a person, but once you walk into a church (holy place) you have to respect it and if that means covering a few tats for a few min then so be it!

again sorry to those who I offended. It was never my intent to offend anyone or start a problem on the board just to find out what you girls think.

I said it was my opinion and was only speaking about my wedding not my general feelings towards tattoos.

I was under the impression these boards are to exchange idea, thoughts and opinions not everyone is going to have the same opinion about everything so I think people also need to not take things so personal.

i understand where youre coming from, none of my girls have tattoos that will be visible but if they did i would ask they cover them for the ceremony and formal bp pictures, i dont like the way tattoos look in wedding pics it draws a lot of attention to that person
i have nothing against people who have tattoos, i dont think asking someone to ocver up a tattoo for your wedding is anything bad, this is just my opinion dont get all huffy puffy, as long as you do it nicely and not demanding,

i love my girls to death but that doesnt mean i have to like everything they do, so does that mean that if i dont want tattoos in my formal wedding pics then i shouldnt ask them to be my bm? its just about comprimising and understanding

I agree with this. And similar to what Adrian said -- is asking someone to cover a tattoo any different than demanding they wear their hair a certain style? I've hd to wear my hair in up dos and was miserable -- it just wasnt me. But you suck it up for the one day. I know this is a sensitive subject, but if the tattoos really bother you, i would pick a dress that covers them...and add a shawl if that helps! : )

Keep in mind -- you do run the risk of really insulting the person -- so make sure it's really that important to you.

I also want everyone to know none of the tats they maybe visible on my BMs have any special meaning to them I am 100% of this they are just things they decided to get.

And that I never tell my BP (and never will) that they 110% have to do something - it is just not me and you girls just do not know me that well - I should have explained that before. I tell them my opinion and what I would like and that is that no 'you all have to' ever.

So thanks for everyone impute...I am going to tell my BMs how I feel and in the end let them decide on what they do. Since this is such a hot topic around here I will let you girls know how it goes if youd like.

nicely said. if you can get a dress that can cover them up (or cover most of them up), do its since you can pick the dress and no one will question you.

im not sure what i would do, i think it depends the tattoos. i like the look of some tats and dresses, but maybe that is just me....

as for my BMs, the ones that do have tats (myself included) have them in hidden spots

i dont have any tattoos right now.. I def love tattoos and always wanted one.. i undertand both sides of the argument here.. I have friends in my BP that have tattoos some dont.. personally it doesnt bother me cause its their body and they can do what they want with it.. I dont feel it will take away from anything at all.. just like I have a nose ring.. my dad hates it and wants it out for my wedding.. some of my friends hate it and think i should take it out for my wedding and some say leave it in. everyone will have their opinions and at the end of the day i will do what i want.. I do not feel offended at all when people say they dont like it. its a personal prefernce and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. thats what this board is for.. when u ask people advice on a particular topic we all have our own views and share them.. it can be very helpful at times and other times might not be what u want to hear.. but i think its ok to voice it as long as its done in a taseful way!! :)

I think that was said perfectly... Two eachs own def, and this website is all for exchanging thoughts and ideas etc. I think we should pick and choose our words a little more carefully then. We are all talking about the most IMPORTANT day of our lives and if you see my FH and I we have lots of tats, so using the word 'trashy' hit a nerve.

I wouldn't ask anyone in my BP to cover up any tattoos or anything on them; I asked them not because of how they look, but who they are. But that's just me; I don't care. Others might. If a bride asked me to cover something up, I just would.

i have 6 and all of my girls have them and they will be showing and Im not having them cover them up because Im not covering mine. Its who they are and thats a part of them.

Someone said it already and I agree: tattoos are part of who you are. Its like a birthmark that aren't born with. Would you ask someone to cover up their birth mark?

No one in my BP has a tattoo... if they did, I wouldn't care, and I'd never ask them to cover them up... but why not ask your photographer if they can photoshop them out? That way you're not making the BP compromise their identity.

I think its very rude to say they have to cover their tats and should have asked people without tats to be in your bridal party if thats how you feel (trashy??? - ok) . But with that said, if you are hellbent on them not showing tats - buy some tattoo cover (ben nye or the kat von d one its much easier than trying to find a dress...
