BP too big?

Hi Girls,
I couldn't sleep last night. My FH just added two guys to his BP. Which means I need to match them with girls. Honestly, is this too big of a BP?

7 Bridesmaids

I know it could get pricy with gifts and Rehearsal Dinner but....I will buy things little by little. I still have a year and a half. But is it too big for pictures and other stuff?

I went to a wedding years ago that had the MOH and BM, and about 12-14 couples of GM and BM. That was a bit much for my taste - the processional seemed like it went on forever, and the photos of the whole BP looked like a class photo.

Just because your FH added two GM doesn't mean you have to match them up. I've seen many uneven BP and they look just fine. Since you already have the extra MOH and a FG, you had two extra females before he added the guys. Now you're even!

I think what's most important is that you ask whomever is close to you - whether it's one person or twenty. And whatever you choose, it will look beautiful!

It is definately not even, we are going to double up a few people 2guys & 1 girl. I just don't have enough friends or family memebers to even it out.

Personally I think ours got a bit out of hand when we were asking people. But these people are all close to us and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Too Big.........No, it is a personal preferance. If these people are that close to you and you want them in your wedding party, then ask them. Don't just ask them to even it out! Also take the peoples financial situations into consideration when asking. Unfortunately we have a few girls in the wedding party that are struggling, and we didn't think of that before we asked them and they didn't think of it before they said yes.

We decided to get a panaramic in the center of our photo album to fit the whole wedding party photo.

I don't feel so bad....I thought asking too many people was out of this world. I really don't think I want to cut any corners anywhere so I will make it work. Thanks Ladies.

We know it's out of control but there was the issue of where to cut people and we were both having a really difficult time. Finally we were like you know what, it's our wedding! Who's telling us it has to be 5 people (or whatever)??

Have as many people as you think should be asked to stand up for you on your wedding day. To me that's more important than the length of time the procession takes.

we had abig bp also
we did the ushers at he alter with the groom and the girls went down by them selfs..there was no rd but the girls gifts where a little exspensive but it worked out great! i had a tottal of 8 bp adult couples and 2 jrs.
3 fg and 3 rb! it was soo cute with them! do as you please! if it was up to me to do it again(with the same dh) i would have had more!

I loved everyone in my bridal party, and it was so much FUN!!! We were definetely not even--but who cares? And I am really close to all my girls as my husband is with his guys. There was no way we could leave anyone out.

my bridal party is not as big but i think it's fine. i also think you do not need to match the guys with girls. one thing to keep in mind though - i went to a wedding where the bridal party was very big. like 12 girls and 12 guys. anyway, the dance floor was not that big, so when they all cam ein and lined up for the bride and groom to walk under their arms it was so crowded and looked rediculous. also, my FH was in the bridal party and he said that the bridal suite was tiny and the cocktail hour was miserable for them. so i'd just keep those two things in mind. otherwise i think have whoever makes you happy!

I think it is NOT too big, it is nice there are so many special people in your life. And it is like when my parents got married, everyone had big BPs. Me? I have a really small BP.

it's totally up to you, if you want everyone included then go for it! however, the bigger the party, the tougher the coordination, and like you said more $$$...

I also had this question....If i have everyone I want...it is a large BP. If I pick and choose...I can step on some of my best friends toes. Overall we are still trying to decide on what we want to do. Their are things to consider in having a larger BP, but also....what more fun is it than having everyone you love be right next to you the day you are married.

I think it's fine. As long as you have the people you want in it. I decided on just having best man and maid of honor, but before that, we were going to have about 17 people in the bridal party. It can just get costly with limos, flowers, bridal party gifts, etc.
