Do you think it's absolutely crazy that I want to get them now....when the wedding is a year away? I had them when I was 15..wore them for 3 1/2 years (not to mention my retainers that I wore for 6 mths) and then my wisdom teeth came in and knocked my bottom teeth out of wack. I'm afraid pics are going to annoy me since I laugh with my mouth open! Is anyone else thinking about getting them or know a great orthodontist that will be able to deal with a bridezilla?

Re: BRACES
One of my friends got invisilign the year before her wedding. If it's something you want and you can afford it, I say go for it!

Re: BRACES
There is a fabulous orthodontist in Medford and Port Jefferson - Leon Klempner. He uses invisalign extensively (when appropriate) as well as more traditional braces. If this is on your mind, go for a consult. It's usually free.

Re: BRACES
its is totally not crazy. I did the invisalign thing and it was great. My treatment was only about 10 months meanwhile they told me if I used conventional braces it would have taken atleast 2 years!! It is more expensive, but if thats not a problem then its worth it.

Re: BRACES
Invisalign is great !
I had braces when I was around 13 and my teeth were never done right. I have a cross bite and eye teeth that pop out.
I always wanted to do this...so i am doing this now.

Re: BRACES
It is a great idea to get braces now. It is an improvement that you can get for your wedding and it will last beyond the day of your wedding.
I am having some cosmetic dental work done.

Re: BRACES
I went to the dentist last night and she was talking about invisline braces for me. I never seen anybody with them on. She was raving about them and saying how great they work.
Can you tell if someone is wearing them?

Re: BRACES
One of my front teeth started shifting a little bit. I went for Invisalign and I'm so glad I did. I am not sure if it is because I just went at the right time and when things just started but I really like that. I feel bad for all those patients who have to wear regular braces. I have experienced no pain except when you change the aligners the first few days...not necessarily pain in my case but just that teeth are more sensitive. And they are so convenient....you just have to take out to eat or drink any color liquids....I think it's one of the greatest inventions ever...And it's never too late. My treatment was only 6 to 9 months maybe because I went at the right time and cheaper because of that. I paid $5000 dollars for the treatment. Not a good expense when you are planning a wedding. I go to a great orthondist and she has an office in the city and in Woodbury. They are very professional, clean, and very updated with their equipment. FM me if you want her information.

Not at all. I've been wearing for about 5 months and there are people at work that do not even know that I wear braces and they see me every day.

Re: BRACES
I don't think you're crazy at all...I'm probably getting my teeth whitened before the wedding (I've really got to cut the cigarettes out)
A co worker of mine got the invisigaline (sp)...and is currently wearing them...I never notice that she has them in...accept when she pulls them out to eat something
I would love to get them because like you...once I had my wisdome teeth pulled my teeth shifted...(nothing crazy but enough for it to bother me) however they're expensive...I think she paid $2500 for two retainers...

Not at all...they're clear retainers...better than the metal braces I wore back when...

Re: BRACES
I don't think you're crazy in fact I tried the same thing. Unfortunately when I went, they said that I need braces for about a year and then invisalign for 6 months and I was just so uncomfortable with the thought of that for all the pre-wedding things and the time frame just didn't work out. So I figured I'd get them when I have kids and am home all the time

I wonder if they are covered under dental insurance?

Re: BRACES
consult an ortho first!!!
when I got my consult the dentist told me a year and a half. Its going on 2 years now and he just realized that I have spaces in the back that did not close. He assured me it would be off by May. Thank goodness I got ceramic.Just in case they don't come off you will not be able to tell in the pics.

Re: BRACES
As long as you can take them off by the wedding, definately go for it. Why not?
