i only saw this on the cake table and the table that would usually hold the place cards. it is a lil off. I am not to fond of the chairs for the bride and groom either. I think Im going with a small table for us with regular covered chairs.

How did you get Ian to agree to votive placecards? I met with him a week ago and he told me that I could not do votive placecards. Are your guests going to walk around holding them? He told me that after the guests leave the ceremony they will grab their placecards as they enter the cocktail hour and they could not hold a votive candle as it would be dangerous. I told him they can pick up their votive AFTER the cocktail hour and he told me it does not work that way, I kinda argued with him but he would not budge.

I don't know what tablecloths you looked at but they have tablecloths that are identical to the chair covers and he wanted to charge me an extra $20 a tablecloth to use them. I am not too fond of the lace tablecloths but will use them due to the extra cost.

What else...he is not going to charge for valet parking...I did not like the way any of the cakes looked so I told him we might order outside for that, he told me to give him a pic of a cake that I want and he will give it to the bakery.

Please let me know about the votive, I am a little upset as that was one of my DIY projects and I told him that!!

I replied to your FM but in case anyone was interested: we are having the votive table at the entrance to the reception room. He also seemed okay with it because my wedding will be fairly small (105 People) and I am doing one placecard per couple/family.

Potatoes or rice? What starch are you guys having with dinner? I'm having the potatoes but don't know excatly how it's prepared. I tried the rice there and didn't really like it, although the paella was pretty good- a good amount of lobster tails.

I got a call from Ian today to make an appt. for the final walk through. I thought it was so early considering I still have a few things to do. Any advice in regards to how I should approach the meeting? I think I know what to expect considering all the advice given on these boards but I almost feel unprepared. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

Hi. I'm still considering Leonard's as my third choice. My first two being Larkfield Manor and Westbury Manor. I was just curious how many people does the Empire room hold? I'm having about 50-60 people and I don't want the room to be too big. What do your guys think, will my guests be floating around in a room that's too big? I want it to be kinda cozy. That was one of my concerns when I looked there. Thanks!

I was in the empire room before my list exploded(thanks to my mom). It has a max capacity of 120 people. You have to count yourselves and your photographer, video person, band/dj too.

What did you do? Did you ask for a bigger room? did they give you one? did they charge you extra?? I am in the same situation...HELP LoL

Leonard's is still in my top 3 picks of RH's. I was just wondering who is the best BM to deal with there. I met with Antonio when I looked but people have said he can be nasty. I was shown the Empire room when I went. Do you know what the minimum is for the Oak room? I seen a pick of it in my booklet from them and I love it! Also do you guys know about how much a Sat night is per person? I was given a great price for an afternoon(under my budget!) so maybe I can afford a Sat night (we need a fingers crossed icon). Did they let you do a tasting before you booked? FH won't book unless he tastes the food. Also what's the deal with the cakes? Will I really need to get one from a bakery??? TIA.

the bottom line is evrery experience is very unique for a variety of reasons. I suggest that you ask all those questions to them yourself. People have said nice things about antonio and some have said otherwise- I find him to be very honest even if its something you don't want to hear and i appreciate that a lot. You can definitely go to a food tasting before you book. i don't know about the oak room but i think i remember you saying you wanted a small wedding and I believe the empire room is the smallest. I hope this helped - good luck

Are there any nice hotel by Leonard's? I heard the INN at Great Neck is nice but really noisy because it is by the LIRR.

My fiance and I went to a wedding two weeks ago (not at Leonard's) and after trying the shrimp cocktail we decided that we really want it for our wedding. I went over the Leonard's paperwork again and they offer it. Does anyone have any idea how much this costs?

I'm not sure how much it is for just Shrimp Cocktail? Did you want to incorporate this into the cocktail hour or appetizer for dinner?
FH and I added the seafood display into our cocktail hour. I think it was LISTED for extra $15/pp. It included lobster tail, lobster claws, jumbo shrimp, oyster and clams. I negotiated it into my package. FM for more information if you like.

Good luck!

Its actually called the Cold Seafood Bar Presentation Leve 1 which is just shrimp cocktail but I like the idea of doing the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer even better. We already have too much stuff for the cocktail hour and I'm having a small wedding so I think a lot of the food is going to go to waste. I didn't even know you could add it as an appetizer to the dinner menu. Do you know how much this would cost?
