Re: brazilian wax???
I go to the J Sisters in Midtown (57th street near 5th avenue). Yes, the pain is quite unbearable as it is happening but it goes away after a few minutes. If you take an advil about 1/2 hour before going it is like nothing.

Re: brazilian wax???
I was doing it for awhile and it was worth the pain....I went to a private lady that does it in her home. She was SO nice and made you feel so comfortable!
I'm such a wimp but I only tried it one time and I never ever will try it again. If you have red hair roots, really think about it before you decide. I have blonde hair but 'red hair roots' in, um, places and they're thicker and stronger than other hair. Therefore, it is WAY more painful to rip them out. If you do go, take a couple of anti-inflammatories before you go.
Sorry, don't mean to scare you but it hurt like hell for me.

Re: brazilian wax???
Ok so the brazilian is when you are completly bare right? So for the ladies who have done it do you go on all 4's at one point? I think I remember that from Sex and the City. Are you completly spread in front of the person doing it? That is the only part I would be freaked out about. I mean they say 'you seen one you seen them all' but still this is different. What is it exactly like from start to finish?

Re: brazilian wax???
I highly recommend the salon 'Completely Bare' on Madison Ave. I looooove this place and they use a type of French wax that doesn't hurt and the results are amazing!!!! I can't wait to go back!

Re: brazilian wax???
Honestly, the pain comes from the expectation of the pain...not the actual pain itself. Does that make sense? Its not that bad. However, I get laser hair removal now and I think it is less painful.

Oh ok thank goodness. I think Samantha had one and was on all fours at one point. I was like
I would not do that in front of a stranger, even if it was her job! Laser hair removal down there is such a great idea!

Not for nothing, but how unsanitary is this? You KNOW they don't change the wax, so they were dipping a different stick into the same wax they used on everyone else. All I can say is EEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Completely unsanitary. Then they use it to get rid of the hair on someone's lip. Only go to a place that changes the stick!! I think the nail salons are the worst!! I go to Frederic Ferkkai in NYC and Nubest on LI.

I think it is worth it. I am paying $300 per session. The fourth session is free and should be the last. If you ever (like 10 years from now) need more, its $75 for a touch up. So basically I am hair free for $900 for ever! That is a bargain if you consider the hassle and money you spend for waxing over a lifetime.

Re: brazilian wax???
I get the laser hair removal on my legs, and I'm such a wimp...it's excrutiating pain!!! However, my MD told me that some people can tolerate it very well because their nerve endings are probably not as close to the surface as mine are (something like that, I didn't listen all the close because I was freaking out, praying for it to end!)
The back of my legs aren't so bad, but the front...horrible!
I'm going for my last treatment tomorrow, and the results are fantastic!
