Yeah...I should say that I have a high tolerance to pain when it comes to beauty. Anything else (like the dentist) I can't handle.

They can give you numbing cream that stops the pain during the treatments. I really don't think it is bad at all, but then the woman who does it told me that she couldn't believe how unfazed I was. So it might be unusual.

Not for nothing, but how unsanitary is this? You KNOW they don't change the wax, so they were dipping a different stick into the same wax they used on everyone else. All I can say is EEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

omg ewwwwwwwwwww. maybe i'll go for laser hair removal.

does anyone know how expensive the laser is?

I think it is worth it. I am paying $300 per session. The fourth session is free and should be the last. If you ever (like 10 years from now) need more, its $75 for a touch up. So basically I am hair free for $900 for ever! That is a bargain if you consider the hassle and money you spend for waxing over a lifetime.

where do you go?

Romeo & Juliet also does Laser in the City. I had a small test spot done and want to do various areas on my body. I was quoted about 225 per session. I thought that was a good rate. I went to some one who was charging 775 per session. It was crazy. I really want this badly. But a big chicken!

The price depends on the area. Legs and arms are expensive. I think arms were $600 a session. I go to Dr. Onnorato in Garden City on New Hyde Park Rd. The nurse practitioner does it. She is a woman in her 20s who is really nice. We end up gossiping about men the whole time. It probably only takes 20 minutes.

My OB/GYN does it, she's in Stony Brook.
The name of the practice is Three Village Women's Health, and her name is Dr. Maxine Spicer.
