Okay I guess I can't say their name. Let me describe the situation then:
FH and I attended expo at Millerage Cottage earlier this week. Filled out tons of forms, okay maybe 3, but it felt like a lot. Anyway, after hanging around all night long and winning NOTHING, we left feeling all sorts of dejected. Then I get a phone call Wednesday that we were selected to participate in a demonstration of a new way of cooking. It's greaseless, healthy, etc. Well we went last night to some hotel in Westbury for the presentation. Has anyone else been to this?

Re: Bridal Division of **************
there is actually a whole health division with a board of doctors that represents these cookware items as well, including a doctor from stony brook university (if proximity has anything to do with validity for anyone) so heres all the reasons why they aren't BS
ok...pots n pans are all made w/ diff materials...some release chemicals into ur food, some chip and scratch easy, some distribute heat evenly, some hold heat for long times, some are nonstick...
these are 9ply which means they have 9 layers...first and last is surgical steel (non stick, doesnt chip/scratch, doesnt release any chemicals) the other 7 are the ones that distribute heat evenly and hold heat for a long time (aluminum and copper). and the layers run all the way through the pot/pan, not just on the bottom, so all of the contents in it heat up, not just the bottom, u dont have to stir non stop to make everything hit the bottom to cook
also, they have gages on them that let u know when the temp has reached 180 degrees. this is called pasteurazation temperature, which is the temp that is needed to kill any bacteria n stuff in meat veggies, etc...but our stuff gets way hotter than that, causing at least 50% of nutrients in veggies to evaporate, and causing pieces of meat to shrink considerably. so when cooking only at this necessary temperature, u dont lose any of that (healthier, saves money cuz more meat is preserved) and when it hits 180 u close the gage and turn off the burner, it will continue to cook at this temp, which will save u gas/electric (i.e. money)
also, they cooked us chicken with NO oil or anything, and it didnt stick, and along w/that, it was 99% lean chicken, yet it still drained out enough saturated fat (the biggest cause of heart disease) to fill up a glass! this lowers cholesterol, another of many health benefits
its a time saver too cuz of the layers, lets say for instance when u cook pasta, its alotta water, it takes like 20-25 minutes to boil...with these it takes like 5...so instead of waiting 25 minutes to even start cooking, ur almost all done in 25 minutes...saving u time...
and then the fact that they are guaranteed for anything and everything that could possibly happen to them for 50 years, ur not spending $300 every 3 years, instead ur spending 1600 one time...how long do u plan to be married?? 15 years? not me...i plan to be married for all those 50
so after learning all of that, i felt very comfortable spending the money (and getting a cruise along with it...)
any more questions??

Re: Bridal Division of **************
jus wanna apologize if my last post came off b*tchy, but i get really frustrated when ppl pass judgment when they don't know what they're talking about...
and everyone has a right to be skeptical, cuz i was before i went too...
however, kimberly was just asking if anyone heard of it, or been to it, and instead it turned into people mocking the decision she (and I) made to go and buy these products.
i felt really bad reading the sarcastic comments because it's like, the session was extremely informative, and i am NOT frugal with money, i would have never even done this if i wasn't convinced...but all of the medical and technical information was correct and accurate, so they didn't lose me there. so it's like some of the comments were innocent and funny, but it just really got where i was like 'ok, well let me now try to put what i learned in 2 hours into one post so people can stop making us look like idiots'
we all have our own opinions, and i didn't want to come of rude, but i couldn't keep reading the skepticism without at least educating everyone on the actual facts about the products

if you are referring to me, I don't think my comments were rude in the least bit...just honest. I also don't think you were being b*tchy in your response but everyone has a right to their opinion....and while I think the idea might be cool, it's just NOT for me.
And as for this comment,

let's compare it to toothpaste. Just because some toothpaste brands are marked ADA approved, they most certainly are not. Here's where $$ comes in to play.... for all the toothpastes sold give us a cutback b/c we're going to make you sell more with this logo marked on it.

Re: Bridal Division of **************
Dont forget though that when people put posts up on this site you will get any and ALL opinions about a topic wether you like it or not. So if someone doesnt want honest opinions dont post a question...And if it bothers you, dont read it and dont reply!!!!!
I would never ever in a million years buy pots from a non-reputable company...I would go with a company that has a good quality history and spend more money on those... Working in the field I am in, I know not everything is the way its made out to be...For example, you say that the pans a made of 9-layers...Thats what you are told, but how do you know that they really are 9 layers when you get them, are you going to saw through one to make sure its 9 layers?? In my industry pharma's say that a drug was put through rigorous testing to be put on the market, and all bases are covered...Looking at results i get, it might not be 100% true all the time (look at gardisil, perfect example!!!)
Also if the pots were really that good, would they need to bribe people to look at them with a free mini-vacation and a cruise??

Re: Bridal Division of **************
and they target young couples starting off on their own..that prob dont know much beter.. but i have to be hoenst.. i LOVE the concept. but free vacations, no refunds and telemarketing schemes put up red flags..
everything causes cancer nowadays..
for instance..my bf spent almost 40$ on a freakin WATERBOTTLE cuz its aluminum.. the ting looks like a bomb..
well i went to marshals and saw similar water bottle.. just chepaer aluminum for 6$..he bought 10 of them.
im like ok so whats the diff? hes like well the 6$ ones bend, and u dont want them to bend cuz the coating could get in your water, and that cuases brain damage..RIGHT.
soo 10 min later we'r ein the supermarket..and they were selling pink waterbottles for breast cancer... those waterbottles were made out of plastic..
what does plastic cause? CANCER.. aint that some shyt...
anyway.. im babbling..once again
bye.

Re: Bridal Division of **************
Ok so someone said they will never have to buy pots or pans again after purchasing this set but my mother has her original calphalon pots from her bridal shower 31 years ago!!! and they look brand new and cost only $600
Now this is just my opinion - this is a complete farce. You can't believe everything someone tells you. Cooking healthy is all in the ingredients you use, especially the oil you cook with NOT the pan. So if I buy these pans will I lose more weight than if I cooked with my pans from Walmart?? I'm sorry, but this sounds like a complete waste of money.....I can think of alot of better things to use my $2k on.
Don't mean to sound rude, just my honest opinion.....but good for the people making millions off this scam
eta: did anyone read the article recently about apples that cause cancer.....would you really stop eating apples bc someone told you this??

Re: Bridal Division of **************
and I had to add the whole thing about saving electric/gas bc it takes less time to boil....i work for the electric company and the amount of electric you use during cooking doesn't amount to anything on your electric bill,.....running your big applicances like the fridge is a huge expense not putting your stove on for 30mins.
sorry if i sound mean but i don't want anyone getting ripped off, really i don't mean to be a complete biatch but this thing got my blood boiling!

Re: Bridal Division of **************
i dont see anyone telling someone they look fugly or they have bad taste or make fun of wedding dresses/stuff like that...
they offer their opinions in a courteous manner....thats all i was saying....
so just because this is pots and pans doesn't mean its free range to say anything...
find me a post where someone told a bride
'wow u look f**king ugly.....try again...' when they ask about makeup trial, or a dress opinion...
they say, 'IMO i like the 2nd one, its more this or that'
jus saying...

What makes this board great is that we give opinions and joke around....let's just agree to disagree....this in no way should make people so angry!!!
