Bridal Opinion...looking back...what would you have saved money on?
Good afternoon Brides,
This is a question that is for everyone: those who are engaged and those who are married!
Looking back, what was the biggest waste of money?
I am in the process of getting my budget in order and I want to know how to cut corners without sacrificing my wedding day.
Thank you so much!

I wouldn't call them a waste, but things I could've done without:
Monogrammed napkins Monogrammed matchbooks Bathroom baskets Slipper baskets (though they were a hit) Pastry boxes for VH (also a hit though) Bride & Groom cake topper DIY table numbers DIY place cards OOT bags Custom invitations
Again, hindsight, I'd do them all again. But if you're trying to save money, these are definitely things you could do without.

I bought 100 pair of chinese slippers so women could change into if their heels started to hurt. They really were a hit and I did it because bare feet on a dance floor is my BIGGEST PET PEEVE, lol.

Well we had a photobooth and candy buffet. But for the actual favor we did photo coasters (that fit the photobooth pics) and CDs with songs from the wedding. Nobody seemed too interested in either of those since they had the photobooth and the candy buffet to entertain them!
ETA: The photobooth and the candy buffet were NOT a waste of money- it was the coasters/CDs I could've done without!

AngnShaun, what is an RD invitation?
Rehearsal Dinner invitation...
I put regrets only, and no one called to say they werent coming... so I had a lot of extra food, assuming that everyone was coming when at least 12 people didnt show.

I would have saved the money on the invites and stamps and done either a FB event or Evite...

I definitely did NOT need to have lavendar rice thrown at us after the ceremony. That was really dumb. It was expensive, got all caught in my hair, I found it in my bed the next morning even!! And it was expensive!
