I am having such a hard time making a final decision about my bridal party. i feel like it's sooooo BIG! I have 7 girls that are definites (3 are family, 4 are friends) my problem is that i have 2 girlfriends who i'm not really THAT close with anymore, but i've been friends with them since elementary school and high school. I kinda feel like i Have to ask them. especially because 2 of the definites are 'newer' friends. so i feel like my 2 older friends would be offended that i'm having the other girls and them. does this make any sense??? with these two girls that would bring my bp up to 9!!!! i just don't know what to do. i don't want to offend anyone or hurt anyone's feelings. but i also don't want a ridiculously huge bp. help!

I have 7 total that I have asked so far, one is my MOH. MY FH has 9 including best man, I kinda feel like 9 is a big number but I think it could go either way. How many people are you inviting to the wedding?

as of now our list is 220. we're trying to keep it as close to 200 as possible. i'm sorry did i say WE? I meant I am trying to keep it close to 200. My FI is trying to invite every single person he's ever met in his entire life

LOL, mine too.. Well we have similar # of invites I would ask if you want them and feel that they are that special to you, I am going to keep mine at 7 and I have a few 'possibles' as well but figure I don't have to ask everyone right now, you could hold out. You might even be surprised, I went to a good friend's wedding a few yrs ago and she told me that she was so upset that she couldnt have me in the wedding party due to many female family members, I was actually relieved, less money, less work, no dress hunting, I had a beeter time at her wedding. keep us posted.

Don't feel like you 'have' to have anyone. I have a friend that I have known since 5th grade, and we barely speak anymore. I am not asking her to be in the BP. I don't think that you should feel like you owe it to anyone. Ask who you feel most comfortable with, you you want to share it all with.

You want to hear big? Try 12 on each side including BM and MOH.. That's right 26 peeps including us. That's big.
I have been in a BP w/ 8 girls and it was nice (and fun). Another friends had 10 gals -same experience.

As of now... I have 10 Ushers, 3 Best Men, 1 Man of Honor, 1 Matron of honor, 4 Brides maids, 1 who thinks SHE should be the Maid of Honor, 3 Flower girls and a Ring bearer!

coming from someone who is only having a MOH and Best Man, it's big. BUT, have whoever you want, add them in what's two more if you already have 7!! shouldn't make too big of a difference. Do you have grooms men to pair with all the girls?
What about having the other two do a reading at the ceremony instead?

I know I am bound to get flack for this but - I personally think that if someone asks everyone and everyone to be a part of a bridal party, then there isn't as much honor. That is just my opinion.

I don't think 7 is too many. I think the number that suits you is the best number. I only picked 4 - it helps keep costs down to keep the BP small.

I had a hard time as well - and wanted to make sure the most important people are there.
I don't care how big it is...but to be honest, I had the same issues. In the end, I waited for two and a half months and then made my decisions (and they ended up being EVERYONE!)

I feel mine is small next to these big number...We have 5 girl/5 guys and I have 2 Jr BMs and a flower girl and Ring Bearer.

thank you all so much for your input! since i wrote this yesterday, i've already caved in and asked one of the 'maybe's' I couldn't help myself. she called me to tell me she got engaged! and i just got so giddy and excited and we started talking about our weddings and i just asked her! LOL....so much for thinking about it! so, now i'm up to 8 girls!!! and my FI just told me he decided to ask another friend of his so he's up to 8 as well! this is getting crazy! so now i really feel like i have to ask the other maybe. that will bring it to 9! hey, any of you want to be in my wedding party too? why dont i just ask EVERYONE! lol

9 couples, 2 JRBM and 1 Ringbearer...oooh yeah and then there's us!!! It's ALL family though and I think it's awesome! Course flowers budget has to be bigger and we got a limo bus cause well, you can see why! BUT we're all going to have soooo much fun and our pics are going to look awesome! Wouldn't have it ANY other way! You do what you feel like doing - it's YOUR wedding!
