Bridal Place Appointment-How far in advance

Hi Ladies,

I'm a little confused, I'm going to start my wedding dress shopping in exactly a month from today, so May 21st. First stop will be Kleinfelds...can anyone tell me how far in advance I should make the appointment...and also there will be a trunk show taking place that day...if that makes the difference.

Kleinfelds?!!! Hon, I'd call now because their appointments are no joke. They will ask you for a credit card number because if you decide to cancel before 24 hours of the appointment they will charge you $50!!! Plus, if you make the appointment now, you will get the exact time you want. If you wait a week before, there is a possibility the time you want to come in might be booked. Early bird gets the worm!!!

I called the other day for a June appointment (first weekend in June) and they didnt have the June calendar yet. You might be ok with May though. Might as well make the appointment now if you already know the date...better safe than sorry!

I agree. Whats the worst that can happen? They will either take your appointment or ask you to call at a later date. I would call though. Get it out of the way.

Yes -- for Kleinfeld's you have to book early. I would say at LEAST two weeks in advance especially if there is a trunk show for a popular designer. Kleinfeld's has a trunk show almost every weekend though. Every where else, early in the week of is usually fine.... except for maybe Bridal Reflections (especially if there is a trunk show)... you might want to do 1 - 2 weeks in advance there.

yay- that's very exciting.
Smaller stores, I called a few days early & it was fine.
David's was booked though.
MCDO15--DId you ever see the Friend's episode where Monica takes Phoebe & Rachel to help her hunt down her dress at a sample sale in Brooklyn?
That was supposed to be Kleinfled's, I think.

Its crazy, but not usually that crazy.
I've heard its a little factory like, but has a huge selection.
Does your fiance need store suggestions?
Where do you live?

I don't think that was Kleinfeld's in Friends. Unless they've done a major facelift since taping that. As far as appointments go, I found that if you are able to go during the week you don't have to give them as much notice, plus you tend to get slightly better service because they are less swamped and rushed. Have a great time at Kleinfelds. They have a big selection and it can get overwhelming. I found my dress there, but didn't purchase it the day I tried it. I had to shop around a bit, but I went back to buy it.

When you know where & what time you want to go,you might as well call them up. It would be annoying to wait for no particular reason to find that they cannot accomodate you.

On the other hand, I went mid week and just walked into Bridal Reflections and was helped w/o an appt.
