Re: Bridal Reflections

The balance thing i think is common. I thought i had to pay the balance of my dress when it was done but that wasn't the case. When they called me to tell me my dress came in they also told me i have to pay the balance before or else i can't get any alterations done until i paid the balance in full. I had no idea, but truth is they didnt tell me i would have to pay it when its all done, i guess i just assumed that, made sense to me lol. I had also purchased my dress a year before so i didnt remember anything that was said in regards to this.

So just be warned, alot of places have this policy. I was surprised

Re: Bridal Reflections

i miss it...I lived in the bronx all my life and the last few years I've been living everywhere.

I miss the corner store (AKA bodega), the dominican salon, and the irish bars...I live in Staten Island now and trust me, nothing is going on here....nothing

Re: Bridal Reflections

Massapequa happens to be much more convenient anyway since my fiance is from there, so I'll probably go to that one. I did get an attitude when I had originally called Carle Place and this seals the deal. Many people might have an awesome experience there, but I might as well go with convenience anyway!

I'll be shopping there in August, as well as The Wedding Salon of Manhasset and The Designer Loft in NYC. Any reviews on those??

Wow, now I'm doubly glad I didn't go there! It's right near my house but I heard most of the dresses are way out of my price range anyway.

That's horrible. BR in Massapequa is much much MUCH better! My friend is getting married this Saturday and she got her dress in Carle Place. I am hoping everything is all set for her!

I just went there to try on tiaras and veils in the Carle Place location.

First of all I had an appt at 11:30, I sat there waiting for 45 minutes before someone helped me which was annoying me bc I did have an appt.

I ended up not liking anything but this post os for any brides thinking of getting their gowns there. There were 3 diff brides picking up and/or trying on their dresses....

One brides dress was ordered wayyyyyyyyyy too big, she was really upset, the dress looked like 2 of her could fit in it

Another bride was picking up her dress and noticed a stain on her dress, so they ran to the back with it to try to get the stain out.

A 3rd bride is getting married this weekend, was there for what she thought was her final fitting. I was trying on veils right next to her and my mom notices her crying hysterical. Well it turns out they bustled her dress all wrong in the front and they forgot to add rhinestone in all the places where it was picked up, her dress was totally different from the last time she was there for a fitting.

My favorite was the last bride who went in for a fitting who was not told that everytime she has a fitting she has to pay 50% of her balance, she was a little shocked that she had to pay $1,500 before leaving.

I was like the whole time I was there, my mom was like thank god we're not dealing with them. Needless to say I'm not gonna even order my veil or tiara there.....that place left a really really bad taste in my mouth.

Oh and did I mention the seamstress who threw a gown in the backseat of her car....I assume she does the alterations off-site? Is this why dresses get stained?

Girls be on top of them if you get your dress there, make sure they make the changes you want and make sure your alterations are done on site.

What's funny is that they make you wait 45 minutes but if you don't go to your appointment they will charge you money for not cancelling. Unreal. I went there once and I swore I would never go back. Waited there about 45-50 minutes after having an appointment, then when I told the lady why make appointments if your not going to stick to them, She just looked at me. Then she was rushing me to try on Gowns. I tried on one and when I noticed she was like IS THIS THE ONE. I am not sure lady I only tired on 1. I just put my clothes on and walked out. NOT Worth my time.

I got my dress at Massapequa also. So far I have had a great experience with them. I know a few other people that have gotten their dresses there and they had great experiences as well.

I heard that Carle Place was a little hectic. The Massapequa store is smaller and more intimate. The sales people really pay attention to you.

Re: Bridal Reflections

i went there with my friend, who is also engaged and i am her MOH. She wanted to try dresses on when she came here to visit.

So when we went, the lady only showed her 1 designer. My friend even asked, if there were any other desingers, and the lady goes yes, well, i want you to try these on. My friend was like o k whatever....Second, there was a dress she really liked, and you know when you say wow i really like this, they put a veil and tiara on. Well, she did and i was like wow i love this tiara. So, the lady begins to say there is going to be a trunk show for the headpieces. i was like O really? that's nice. And she looks at me, and says it with such a stank attitude, it's only for people who buy their dress here! i was like, ooook. And lastly, my friend has tats and piercings on her body. And the woman goes to her when she was changing, OMG! Where else do you have them? Do you have them 'there?' And just keeps looking at her! It was creepy and rude.

I told her to go to Massapequa. The women there are just so much nicer!

You girls are really making me nervous because I ordered my dress from Carle Place. I had a really good experience the two times I went there though.
Oh boy I dont know what to do...should I look for my dress somewhere else??

Re: Bridal Reflections

no its alright. Unfortunately the bad experience happened to some and we should not knock the place for that. BR in general is a very reputable company but the Carle Place location needs to be more selective w/ their staff.

If you had a great experience there, its all that matters.

Re: Bridal Reflections

I went to the carle place location with my MOH to look at BM dresses, they were absolutely AWFUL....it's like THEY were doing YOU a favor by even speaking to you. The girls were rude, my MOH and I pulled all the dresses and when I asked the salesgirl if she had pins to hold the dress in she got annoyed because she had to stop talking to the other morons about her night at the club the evening before. For the money they charged...and would have made from my 9 bridesmaids, it was so not worth it, the service at David's Bridal blew them away and after my experiences today at Princess, I'm starting to think I should have gone there!!!!!!!
