Bridal Reflections review - long
Hi girls,Went with a girlfriend today and wanted to pass on the experience we had.
Upon arrival she filled out some paperwork and it asks what your budget is for a dress. She is on a strict budget but its a decent amount. The woman we worked with was very nice but brought out 2-3 dresses that were $500 more than her budget and didn't tell her until after she said she liked them. Then the woman tells her that she should leave a deposit today b/c the dresses go up in price twice a year and she should make sure she gets today's price......whatever.
My friend was very honest with the woman and said she was not prepared to make a decision w/o her mom there and the woman got very agitated. She also said this was her first outing and wanted to go to Paradise Bridal to see their selection. Well, the woman goes off saying how they have been in business for 30 years and Paradise could be out of business tomorrow.....very unprofessional.
Then (this is the kicker) as my gf is getting dressed the woman starts talking to me about my wedding and asks which dress I bought. So I showed her the picture (yes, I carry it with me LOL) and she said it is all wrong for me!!!! She said I have a beautiful bone structure and broad shoulders and that a halter is not the dress for me. I should have the halter taken off and my dress should be strapless! I couldn't believe it.
Overall I'd give the experience a B-. Don't show my gf or anyone a dress that is above what you can afford. Second, do not pressure a bride....we make the decisions LOL. Third, don't tell me I bought the wrong dress. I know it looks good on me - Shamma said so LOL
My girlfriend went to Paradise today and bought a dress...........

Re: Bridal Reflections review - long
Had a very similar experience at Bridal Reflections and also bought my dress at Paradise!
By the way, Paradise has been in business for something like 30 years as well. You have nothing to worry about. And that woman was really rude for saying that to you about your dress. Even if it was true (which I am sure it isn't), what did she think you'd say, 'Well you know what, you're right. I think I'll buy a new dress from you.' What an idiot.FYI - Paradise Bridal has been absolutely amazing so far. I have so much confidence in them!

I had a similiar experience there when I was looking for a dress. They tried to pressure me to buy a dress which was way over my budget and then made me feel cheap because I wouldn't.

Re: Bridal Reflections review - long
It's so funny because they showed me a dress that was $500 out of my price range that of course I loved, except it was long sleeved. Then she started talking about removing the sleeves. Then she brings out a mantilla (sp?) veil to go with it. It was gorgeous. She left the room so my mom and I look at the price. It was another $900!!!
Now with the alterations, the extra $500 and the Mantilla, I am now close to $2000 out of my price range! What part of I don't want to spend more than this set amount did you not understand?! THen they called and harassed me for weeks afterward. When I told her I found a dress somewhere else, she got all snotty and told me that she could have gotten the same dress for me. Well, I got my dress without the extra attitude, thank you very much. Some people!Paradise, on the other hand, has been wonderful. My girlfriend sent me there and now I try to send everyone there too. Everytime I go there, there is a smiling face to make my day. They are some of the most pleasant people I have ever dealt with.

Sorry your friend had such a bad experience and that was horrible what the woman said to you! I wouldn't have done business there either if that happened to me.I on the other hand bought my dress there and was not pressured at all. They told me to shop around and I went back twice before I bought it cause I wanted to show all my friends and family.

That's the thing with all of these bridal places.... It all depends on the sales person you get. That makes or breaks a place.

I am sorry your friend had such a bad experience. There is no excuse for high pressure sales and bad mouthing other vendors. They of all people should know that buying a wedding gown is a highly emotional experience and they should let it happen.
I can't imagine why on earth they would make that comment to you about your dress being all wrong. That's just AWFUL!!
I got my gown there. And yep, they showed me gowns out of my price range but then I used that against them to get the price down a bit. But I had a really great consultant with no pressure.

OMG-i don't which one you went to but they are notorious for doing that! glad she found another dress somewhere else and that lady should be fired for saying that to customers-is that how they think they can drum up business??!!

Re: Bridal Reflections review - long
That is a shame I think an experience at these places COMPLETELY depends on who you get assigned to. I was lucky at both places that I got people who were friendly did not bring me out anything outside of my price range - in fact brought me things in the lower end - and the ones I specifically asked about - there was no pressure to buy.But I had a bad experience with my salesperson at Kleinfelds -
These places seem to be hit of miss and your experience is totally based on whether you get someone good or not.
To trash another store is BAD business

I had a similar experience at Bridal Reflections. But I complained to the manager....in the end I wound up buying my dress from there, but they discount my dress so that I could afford it!!

Re: Bridal Reflections review - long
I went to Bridal Reflections on Carle Place last week and the same thing happened to me. The bridal consultant I had was OK but seemed a little snotty IMO. I tried on four dresses and two were in my price range. Of course the dress I fell in love with was $900 over my price range. The manager discounted it $600. She also said she would cap alterations at $150 rather than $240. Then she said the designer charges an extra $350 for my size but she'll absorb the cost herself. Does anyone else think this is too good to be true? Makes me wonder if they hike up the price and then lower it to make it seem as though you are gettting a discount. Any thoughts?
