Does anybody have any salon suggestions? Any places that you just loved or had good experiences with? I appreciate any feedback. There seem to be so many in New York it is overwhelming.

Re: bridal salons
I've only been to three: Bridal Reflections (Carle Place), Wedding Salon of Manhasset & Macy's in Lake Grove...and I have an appt with Bridal couture of Manhasset (I'm po'd with them already!) But I digress. Bridal Reflections was above & beyond the others - the layout, the attention, the knowledge & selection was awesome!
...Good Luck!

Re: bridal salons
I have only been to 2 to try on dresses. The first was bridal reflections in Massapequa. It was nice place but I did not find the dress there. Then I went to Lidia's in Copaigue. She was wonderful. So far my experience has been great. She helps you find your dress and does not rip you off by ordering your dress 4 sizes bigger than what you are to charge you big alterations.

Re: bridal salons
I had a very good experience at BR of Massapequa too. Helpful staff, beautiful gowns, very nice salon, but pricey. Bridal suite of Centereach was great, not a very fancy place, but great staff. I was there for 3 hours, and they were terrific, never rushed me, just kept bringing out gowns! The bridal salon at Macys in Smithhaven mall was okay.
P.S., I bought my gown from BR in Massapequa.

Valentina's in Brooklyn
LOVE THEM LOVE THEM LOVE THEM
The lady I am dealing with is beyond a doll. She is so nice, very patient, and so caring (I have been back 3 times to try on the dress but have not left a deposit and she has been so nice and lovely each time I have been there)
She even picked out the dress I am getting. I didnt love the dress at first and then I just couldnt it get out of my head and went back a week later and she was so nice and put on a veil and headpiece and let me walk around the entire shop in the dress. I was dancing, hugging and doing just about everything in the dress and she just smiled and laughed with me.
Love them love them love them at Valentina's

Re: bridal salons
I also had a great experience at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I recently went to Reem Acra in NYC and the bridal consultant there was sooooo nice!!! I was expecting them to be snobby since Reem Acra's bridal gowns are very expensive , but it was a really wonderful experience. I personally wouldn't reccommend Bridal Couture in Manhasset.

Re: bridal salons
I bought my dress at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and love the store. I highly recommend them. They go above and beyond and are very honest - which you need. I worked with Patty and Michelle.
I also really liked Priscilla of Boston in Rosyln. They are very nice and not pushy at all. They let me walk around forever in one dress which I was seriously considering.
Other than that I went to the Wedding Salon of Manhasset, Macys in Manhasset and Kleinfelds. Everyone was helpful in these stores too. But, I just personally really liked Priscilla and BR better. Could have just been the saleswoman I got.
Good Luck!!!

Re: bridal salons
I got my dress at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset, which was great so far! I also got my bridesmaid's dress for my aunt's wedding at Lillettes. She got her gown there and we both had a good experience! Good luck & have fun!

I agree with Chippa, they are wonderful people to deal with and I love them too.
The girl I am dealing with is wonderful. She is so nice and very patient.
Valentina herself picked out my gown. I didnt like the gown while it was on the hanger but once I put it on, I did not want to take it off.

Re: bridal salons
Definatly check them out. I will let you know though they dont tell you the designer of the dress until you leave a deposit, but their is always ways to find out who the designer is (looking at the tags, looking for those white strings they use to hang the dress, doing a search on line) that is something I wouldnt stress to much about but just letting you know they dont tell you the designer.
However, when I tried on my dress she did tell me she is the one who makes it (Its a valentina dress. Valentina makes her own dresses for the store as well as having designers) and when my BM's tried on dresses she told them the designer of the dress.
They have a separate area for BM dresses (its upstairs) and its so nice and quiet up there. They never rush you or anything. My girls must have tried on a dozen dresses, the same dress 3 times and the whole time Doloris (the one I am working with) has been a pleasure. She just sat their, brought out color swatche, helped the girls if they needed it, even helped pick out dresses.
The people in the store are so sweet and really caring. I would definatly recommed them to all the brides looking for a bridal shop.
OOH the only thing I would suggest is go in with a budget in mind. You will be asked what you want to spend and they will bring out only dresses within your budget. The dress that I am getting is made by valentina and its not too expensive.
Did I mention how I totally love love love them in their

Re: bridal salons
I LOVE VALENTINAS!!! I have bought 2 bm gowns from her and 2 of my friends each got wedding gowns there, both made tons of changes to their gowns and both were extremely happy with their results!!!
I would have bought my gown from her had I not found mine at a sample sale. I'm going back there to look at bm gowns.
