Does anybody have any salon suggestions? Any places that you just loved or had good experiences with? I appreciate any feedback. There seem to be so many in New York it is overwhelming.

Re: bridal salons
I also ordered my dress from VALENTINA's!!! I love that store...my dress is also a 'Valentina', part of their 2003 spring collection. I'm making ALOT of changes to my dress (adding long sheer sleeves with beading designs to match the bottom, a long train, etc.) and they had no problems with it.

Re: bridal salons
I am so happy to hear that there are alot of us on here using Valentina. Here is my gown (it is not a Valentina Collection but a Victoria's Bridal Collection):
Of course, I am not getting those gloves or that headpiece and veil. I also liked that Valentina gives free alternations, headpiece and veil.

Re: bridal salons
Hey, does anyone know where Valentina Bridal Salon makes their 'Valentina' dresses? I mean like where their factory is located? I was told Italy, am I right or wrong? Was anyone told something else?

Re: bridal salons
The factory is in Italy.
I was told they place the order to Italy and then ship over the material to the US and she does everything in the US.
Not sure if you girls know this, but I got it off their website:
Ijaz Mughal the genius behind Valentina Bridal began making bridal gowns at the age of fourteen in Kuwait.
He emigrated to America , where he honed and sharpened his skills at FIT.
Ijaz then worked at retail position in order to learn what brides wanted and what worked best. He designed for other outlets before launching his own line 'Valentina Bridal' a couture line of stylishly dramatic bridal gowns was born in 1995.
His designs are unique and innovative, the beading spectacular, the lines fluid, the fabrics imported. This gowns have universal appeal and retail magic. His style is the result of many years of experience in the field of wedding fashion.
Ijaz can maximize sales potential for your salon by working one on one with retailers. 'Valentina' regularly host trunk shows giving brides the opportunity to try on gowns with the added convenience of having the bridal gown on hand for reference.
Ijaz has built a reputation over the past 29 years as one of the prominent designers.

Re: bridal salons
Valentina is probably in her 50's. She is the woman who is always dressed nicely and who has an Italian accent.

Even I didn't know that much and I've been going there for the past 3 years!
I thought she did the work herself at first too. I have to check out their site....

Re: bridal salons
oooh I think I met her once. I've been working with just doloris so she is the only one I really know
Chippatrid: Who told you about the factory being in Italy but they actually make the dress in the U.S.? Valentina herself or one of the salesgirls?? So you mean to say they place the order to the factory in Italy, have the materials shipped here, and then they actually make the dress here in the U.S???
For all of you that dont know, Valentina is the older blond woman there, the guy from Kuwait is her husband.

Re: bridal salons
Doloris told me. When I found out my dress was a valentina I asked her how long does it take to make the dress. She then told me it takes about 4 months. I looked at her funny, and she said it takes about 4 months to get the material because they order it from Italy.

Chippatrid:
Ok that sounds strange, how could it take 4 months to have the dress fully made when the woman Doloris said it takes 4 months to have the materials shipped here alone. So it may take like 8 months or longer to have the dress completely made, right? Valentina told me my dress would be all made by 8 months from now then I would start my fittings.
Who is Doloris there, a young girl or older woman? Im trying to remember who she was.
Did anyone there mention at all where they actually make the dress after they get all the materials? Im wondering where is this factory here in the U.S. that they make it. Im only asking because I could have sworn I heard that they make everything in Italy. So I just wanted to get the info straight. Dont wanna call them up because Valentina got annoyed when I asked her a few questions regarding where they actually make it. I think she felt I was getting too involved in their business (thats what she said too). I was upset about that too, that they cant even answer a few simple questions, I mean I already put down a deposit on the dress, why couldnt they just tell me straight out instead of avoiding answering me.
So is there anyone else out there, that knows for a fact, that the dress gets made here in the U.S. or Italy?

Re: bridal salons
I saw you and your mom when you arrived to Valentina's. I remember you showing one of the girls pictures of dresses, so I saw you try on a few dresses. I was the one that tried on the dress with the really long train. Here is one of my e-pics:
