I think it's totally wrong of them to plan the shower they want and then bill you and the rest of the bridal party $500 each. They should have contacted each of you and gotten an idea of how much you could afford. Then if they wanted something elaborate, they could pay for the rest. It's almost like they are taking advantage of you.

Well, good news. MOH called the other day and said MOB is paying for half the shower. BP has to pay $200 each. Also, I finally got something to do. I got to pick games for the shower and buy the prizes for the games. I am sooo happy. Thank you everyone for you opinions, advice and help.

I think $500 is a lot for a BM to spend on the shower. You should of at least had a vote in some of the decisions....if everyone was involved you could have decided together to make it a little more economical.
The last wedding I was a BM in we all put in $150. The one before was a bit over $200.
