Bridal shower

My wedding will be Aug 2010 and I was considering having my bridal shower this Nov to get it out the way, is this too soon

It sounds pretty soon to me too. I think they're usually more like 2-3 months before the wedding, anyone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm letting my MOH pick when to throw mine, so I have no clue when it will be. I can understand wanting to get things out of the way though!

I have to agree with the other girls - I think it's a bit too soon. 2-3 months beforehand is the norm. Mine was even closer to the wedding - about 1 month before though I think that was TOO close.

i have to agree..i mean if you want you could do like 4-5 months, but november is 9 months before...

yes i would wait until at least April 2010 if your wedding is August 2010

Way too soon for a bridal shower. Did you have an engagement party (we didn't but we only had a 6 month engagement). Why don't you just have a 'ladies night' if you want to see your girlfriends sooner than your shower?

It's a shame you want to 'get it out of the way' -- this should be an enjoyable and celebratory time for you!!! I hope things pick up and the excitement comes back!!

I think so. However I am in the business of getting things out of the way so I can focus on other stuff.

Thanks ladies...

I wanted to do things spaced out so we can fully enjoy and remember each event individually...before we were too stressed and to too tired to do so.

I feel bad that none of this is exciting to me as yet...everyones telling me when its closer to they day ill be more excited...I hope so, its embarassing

Im happy to be with him...Im more excited when were home along enjoying each others company not so much when it comes to the wedding prep.

were having an eparty in August hopefully seeing everyone will turn things around

That is way too soon...a shower is usually 2-3 months before the wedding. Why do you want to get it out of the way??

I think its to soon. You will run into problem with your registry b/c thing will be discounted by the time you get married. Wait you will have something to look forward to.

I agree with the other girls, I think its too soon. You will get more into it as you go to different vendors and your vision is starting to come true. Hang in there !
