bridal shower gifts

I have a question.....

I have a bridal shower to go to in early June, do I HAVE to buy something off the registry. I have a cute idea and when I suggested it to another friend, she said I should get her something she has registered for...

Is she right? Should I stick to the registry?

i will usually buy what i want in the case and then just get a small something of the registry

I would only because my fsil just had her babyshower and no one really got her anything off her resitry and she was a little upset. Now she has to go out and buy all that stuff her self.

I say get what you want and you can provide a gift receipt so if she doesn't like it she can return it.

I would stick with the registry because you know that's what the bride and groom definitely want so they won't have to make a trip to return it just in case they don't like it.
