Bridal Shower Present

I am in a bridal party and we are purchasing a gift together.

The gift came out to be rather inexpensive so we decided to purchase something else individually.

Any ideas or suggestions for something sentimental? I would need to buy it for this weekend--- Otherwise I would have to go with the cappiccunio maker and cup set or table linens.

What about a silly gift, like something monogrammed. Like a Mrs. ___ sweatsuit. I think that is such a cute gift!

Lingerie is always fun!! Or as someone said - what about something personalized. I got ALIKING a handpainted sign for the outside of their house - it's so much fun to get something with your new name!

I was thinking monogrammed bath towels but I don't think I can get that in time....

Some department stores do it while you wait. They also sell a wedding blanket in Things Remembered that you can get personalized with their names and wedding date.

Sorry - I know I am in the minority but I don't get the 'Mrs ___' or the 'Soon to be Mrs.___' By the way - does anyone wear the 'Soon to be Mrs.__' after the wedding??

I think it's kind of silly and I wouldn't get it unless you knew the bride was going to want that. It's definitely something you could only wear at home!

What about tickets to a show or a gift certificate for dinner? I think brides and grooms get a lot of stuff and they are usually a little in debt (whether it's because of the wedding or buying a new house). It's nice to go out to dinner and not have to pay for it!!

Also- if it is just females at the shower - you could get her a massage gift certificate for the day before the wedding. (I don't think it has to include the groom but you could if you thought he'd like that too)

Someone posted on here the other day about a basket of candles. Each candle was a different color meant something different, and there was a cute poem that went with it telling you when to use each candle....I thought that was a great idea....not sure if you have ever heard of this before...it is new to me.
