Bridal Shower question!

So, my MOH just asked me for the invite list for my shower, and I'm having a bit of a dilemma. They won't tell me where they're having it, or how big the list can be. My family is big - like, just my closest female family members is about 20 people - then you add in my close female friends and you're at about 30.

The question is, do I invite all of his female family members as well? I was invited to his cousins wife's shower and I don't really know her. What about his groomsmens gfs & wives? They don't really spend time with us and are pretty much acquaintances.

I just...I dont want to give them a list of 60 people if its being held in a house or something, or have people get the invite and be like ***, why?

Bridal Shower question!

I personally think your shower should include people that you want there. So you don't necessarily have to invite everyone - just those who are the closest to you!!

Bridal Shower question!

Can you separate the list a little since they aren't giving you a number to work with? Maybe create sections, one forthe must-haves, one for the like to haves, and leave off any acquaintances/significant others that aren't as important to you? Just a suggestion from a Type-A 'list-maker' haha!

Bridal Shower question!

When I had my bridal shower and was asked for a list, I gave them a list of my female friends I wanted to be there. I spoke with my FMIL and asked her from the immediate family who should I invite. As far as my FH friends and their wives, I only invited those I have relationships with. Hope this helps :)

Bridal Shower question!

Thanks for all the advice guys! That does help a lot!

Another question - what about out of state people? I have close family in Florida that definitely won't be able to make it to the shower. I'm going back and forth about sending them invites because on one hand I think its a nice gesture to let them know I'm thinking of them and would like them to be there, even though I know they can't. On the other hand, Im worried it will come across as if I expect them to either come or send a gift, which isn't the case!

I included one of my friends from out of state because she told me she wanted to be there for my shower so she wanted an invitation. Maybe for those that are out of town, you can personalize a note and have your MOH place them in those invitations. 'I know you will not be able to attend, but wanted to send you an invitation....... and fill out the rest' Just a suggestion. I sent out my wedding invitations and was so surprised to those that I did not send bridal shower invites to sent a gift from my registry and RSVP'ed no.

Bridal Shower question!

Definitely invite out of state people you'd want there. My aunt couldn't attend my sisters wedding so came to the shower again. And as far as numbers, I have about 60 closest fam members on both sides and 20 friends I would want lol
