bridal shower tea?

bridal shower tea?

we're trying to find an affordable way to have a bridal shower for 70+ people. i was thinking about an afternoon tea. we'd serve various kinds of tea, coffee, finger sandwiches, cookies/crumpets. do you think that's too chintzy? any other ideas on how to keep costs down?

TIA!

I think it is great!Wewanted to have my sister's grad party at Robinson's Tea House, but they were already booked, so we decided to do it at home. The invites were on teacup stationary cards, everyone dressed up, we made various kinds of tea and coffee and mimosas, and served scones with cream and jam and tea sandwiches. Everyone loved it!!

I am having an afternoon tea party at Garden City Hotel. They have tea parties every Saturday I think from 11-3 or something like that. The only thing is you have to have 40+ ppl to rent out their room. The place is gorgeous nad hte cost is a lil steep I think, but it actually adds up b/c you dont 'have to decorate the place since it's already so nice and the variety of teas/hot chocolate/sandwiches/cakes are very nice.

Thanks, girls. I'll definitely have to check out Robinsons. Will also note that if we do go ahead with this we'll make note on the invitation about the food being served so people know not to expect a 3 course meal.
