Bridal shower thank you cards

So I wanna try to get my shower Ty's done ASAP. I'm looking up the proper ediquite and I'm seeing that brides are supposed to hand write each one in its entirety and that it's considered bad ediquite to print a poem or saying inside. Anyone care to share how they wrote their cards?

Bridal shower thank you cards

I haven't had my shower yet, but personally, it bothers me when I don't get a handwritten thank you card. I spend time picking out a gift for the couple and go to the shower to celebrate with the bride. I know it's annoying and tedious, but I just think it is more personal and shows real gratitude to hand write thank yous. I did this for my engagement party, so I know it feels like it takes forever, but people were really happy to receive them.

Re: Bridal shower thank you cards

I created thank you cards from Shutterfly. A lot of DH's family is Italian speaking so I didn't want to write something they couldn't understand. What I did was, I made a collage of the photos from the shower (about 8) and wrote something really nice about sharing in our day.

I figured for those who can't understand English, got to see some pictures and possibly have as a keepsake. And those who can read and understand English got the writing.

Bridal shower thank you cards

My shower is in two weeks & I have to agree, definitely hand written notes are best. Unfortunately it is a dying art, but there's just something special about receiving handwritten notes. Although in bklynbabe's case, that is a great idea for your situation.
For those girls who haven't had their showers yet, I bought my thank you cards ahead of time (off etsy) and addresssed them ahead of time (I figured even if the people invited don't physically come to the shower, they will still send a gift) and now all I have to do is write a personal note to each guest and mail them out! Great time saver!

Bridal shower thank you cards

I agree with everyone above. We got a printed thank you from a wedding that had a really brief message and signature, and we weren't thrilled.

I know, it sounds so un-fun to write out all those thank you cards, but I figure, if it makes the person I'm writing it to feel like I was really happy they celebrated with me. Just make sure FH knows he's licking the envelopes! LOL

Bridal shower thank you cards

I also had a lot of thank yous to write. Mine were short 4-5 sentences each, they typically followed this format. 1. It means a lot to me that you came to my shower/ We missed you at the shower. 2. We love the gift! (specifically list the gifts) 3. How we'll use the gift(s). 4. A personal sentiment (ex. We're so lucky to have friend as thoughtful as you.) 5. Can't wait to celebrate with you at the wedding! (or something along those lines.)

Bridal shower thank you cards

I hand wrote all of them!(~60) Then I had a shower at work and had to hand-write another 50! It wasn't fun but I figured if the guests took their time to look for a gift, I could write a nice note of appreciation.
