I heard a few things that upset me about my bridal shower. I feel really let down by my mom, she was persistant on having it at a place that the food might not be that great opposed to just having it at a nice restaurant since she was only paying for people i was inviting bc my mother in law was taking care of her side. I feel so let down by her and so disappointed. I know the bridal party wanted to choose a different place but my mom wouldn't have it. I just feel like i am her only daughter she could have went all out for me. I have never asked my mother for a party not even a sweet 16, nothing and she couldn't even do the right thing now. Anyone have any advisce ?

Im so sorry you feel disappointed by your mom. That really must be difficutl. However, unfortunately we can't change our parents..nothing we say or do will change them at this point. It's very upsetting but don't let it spoil this wonderful time in your life and your shower.. You'll be with all the people that you love and that love you!!! No matter where it is held it will be an amazing day for you and your family and friends.
We need to accept the people they are..good or bad...it's our only option unfortunately!!

I am sorry she is being that way. Perhaps it is a money issue for your mom that she may not want to discuss with you. Perhaps you can mention to her that you would love to have your shower at xyz cafe for example.

From what I know, I am pretty sure it's too late. I think they already booked it. My mom is out every weekend i highly doubt its money she is very selfish she only likes to spend on herself. I know it sounds horrible that i am saying that but it's really just the truth. I am just so upset by her actions, I feel like everyone else wants to do something special for me but her.
