Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
i won't be - there's only 2 or 3 women that applies to in my case anyway but i don't know them and neither does FH so it would be awkward for me to invite them

Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
I didn't. If you are close with them than I'd say yes but if not I wouldn't even bother. I wanted my shower to be very intimate and with people that I love not people I see a couple of times a year. JMHO
Good luck.

Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
I think that if they are wives/fiances/gf of the GM you should. This came up for me and FH felt very strongly that they should be invited, even though I barely know them. These are the SO of his good friends.

Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
I would invite them. But do we decide who is invited to our showers? I mean, I thought this was up to the bridal party?? I feel like it would be wierd for me to hand them a guest list for the shower I'm not supposed to know about!!!

Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
we're not going to just because they all either live 4 hours away or out of state, we are just doing people who are local

Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
I would invite them. If they have been dating for a long time, enagaged or married to the groomsmen it would only be appropriate IMO. A similiar situation happened too me where I was 'forgotton' to be included on the bridal shower list of my FH's Cuz's wifes bridal shower (although once they remembered me they added me on the list *after the invites where mailed out* (which my FH was a groomsman & at that time we had been dating for 4 yrs). I felt horrible (but it didnt matter much because I was on a cruise to bermuda with my now fiancee, which we got engaged on!!), So it all worked out, but I still felt like an a$$ not being originally included on the invite list. It will be up to the girls invited if they will feel comfortable attending your shower or not.

Thanks ladies.... I think I will add them to the list... If it makes FH happy, its the least I can do... and who knows, maybe I will build a friendship with some the ladies!!!!!

Re: Bridal Shower,...should I invite
I'd say do what you want. I'm controlling my shower list too...and I'm pretty sure my FMIL isn't thrilled about it because I don't plan on inviting all of her friends that are invited to the wedding...just the 1 I know - threw that one in to be nice to FMIL.
I think the shower should be more intimate...there's no need for every female invited to the wedding to be invited to the shower...it's also not fair to the people throwing the shower.
Keep it simple if that's what you want. I kept it at our (mine and FH) friends and family...and it's just under half the total guest list....which is still a lot to me, but we kept our overall list pretty basic too.
Some people say invite everyone and anyone so you get gifts...and if that's what you want, great...but that's not what I want for my shower...it's not about the gifts for me. --------- I just reread the original question - it's a tough call...with the guys in the bridal party....it's toucy to not invite the girls...go with your gut. I'm pretty close to the girlfriends of the guys in our bridal party.

Agreed 100% - I think it's disgusting that some people just invite people they barely even know just to get a gift!!!

I would. If they were just girlfriends it would be different, but wives, you'll probably wind up hanging out with them for a while.

I would say no. I'm a big slasher of guests for showers....I hate it when every single female being invited to the wedding is invited to the shower. IMO the shower should be more intimate. Let's face it - who likes to go to showers anyway? If you're not that close to these girls they will probably dread getting the invite...no offense!
For a wedding I was in, my friend's mom made us invite everyone....I was the RSVP contact and I cannot tell you how many phone calls I got asking who this girl Katie was!
Up to you but I like smaller, intimate showers with just people the bride is closest to....which can be a large group...but I just think it's weird when people are invited who aren't that close to the bride.
