I ordered my dress from BS at Bay Shore and I worked with Mary Ellen. She was amazing to work with.
I went back with 6 of my bridesmaids to look at bridesmaid dresses. Unfortunately the weekend that I had to go (I had a bridesmaid in from California) Mary Ellen was on vacation and I worked with Annie. I was not happy with her service that day. We picked out the dress but were not ordering them that day because 2 of my bridesmaids were very pregnant so we were going to order them in the summer. I had her measure the rest of the girls. She wanted us to put 60% down and then have the other girls get measured in the summer. I told her that we were not putting anything down until we were ordering the dress. She then proceeded to say I wish you would have told me because I would not have measured everyone.... Really!!!!
Well I was pissed but I really wanted to have the dresses at the same place as my dress (and I got a good price) so that my sister and I (and other bridesmaids could go together for fittings).
Well on Saturday I went with one of the BM who was pregnant to get measured. This time I was working with Mary Ellen again. Well guess what.... The paper with all the measurements (which was suppose to be in my folder) was not there. Mary Ellen is going to look around for it. But I am PISSED!!!!! I really have a feeling that Annie misplaced it because she was mad that we did not put the order in then and she was afraid that she would not get the commission.
Mary Ellen is going to call me this week. They better find the sheet!

Wow! That is TERRIBLE! How would they lose it if it goes right in your file? Only if it never got there in the first place..

I normally am also so I am surprised that I am considering ordering the dresses from there!

I had same issues I worked with Mary Ellen cause shes a family friend since I was a kid and everything went smoothly...we all ordered our dresses etc.
Went there for my first dress fitting last week and it was He77!!!! Cause MAry Ellen was out
I raised hell when I was there. I had them write on my file that I will only deal with Mary Ellen. I also got Mary Ellen's schedule so I know when to go. I will never ever go there again when Mary Ellen is not there. Even if it is for a fitting and I would not be dealing with her!

Wow!!! I am soo sorry to hear about your trouble there. I was there a few weeks ago and I think I worked with Amy and she was really sweet, but this makes me nervous since I found a bridal gown there that I really like...
Well I would absolutely not work with Annie if you go there. Mary Ellen has been phenominal and recommend you work with her!

I am not ordering my dress, or my bridesmaid dresses through BSB for these reasons. The small charges, the terrible service I have experienced, and the fact they treat bridesmaids different then brides, is the reason. It's unfortunate, bc my best friend had a great experience as a bride, and we were treated like second class citizens as bridesmaids. Minus the fact my dress for her wedding, (I was the MOH) was $425 all said in done. The dress itself wasn't even $300. That was all charges and alterations. Over a size 14 was a $65 upcharge to begin with there.

Thank you so much for your response. The price is not an issue at all (which I am thankful for). In addition, I have them capping the alterations so we know the top that it can be.
I think that bridesmaids being treated differently than the brides is pretty common. If you think about it the brides dress is alot more money than the bridesmaid. I went to Village Bridal for bridesmaid dresses and we were completely ignored.
That is one of the reasons that I want to have the bridesmaids scheduled to do their fittings the same day as I go for mine so that I am there to make sure that they are treated well!

I worked with Antonella and Tamy there and really liked them. I def wouldnt work with Annie again! Your probably right.. a get even for comission and an inconvenienceto everyone else!

The owner called me last night to speak with me. She looked for the measurements on Saturday and she was not able to find them.
I spoke with my bridesmaids and they all remember the sizes that they are.
The owner assured me that we will only be dealing with the owners or Mary Ellen.
Of course I wish it did not happen but if this is the worst thing that happens I guess I am not so bad!
