no it doesnt have a number... Your parents table will be 1 and you will have the odd numbers, FIL's table will be 2 and his side has the even numbers

we did it the oppositte way
FH ENTIRE GUEST LIST WAS 7 PEOPLE!!
so we gave them table 1
and then my family was 2 and so on

you can do the opposite i guess like dom said...or sometimes if one side is bigger than the others you can switch it around but thats the way it usually is.

wow i was totally unaware of this i just thought they sparatically place the #'s... cuz i made tables #'s out of pics.. half are in b & w and half are in color.. but it just so happned that all the even are color and all the odd are b&w so now i need to redo?

dont think you have to redo them, your side will have all the B&W pics and his side the color pics

Not always. It depends upon the RH. Mine had set table numbers and in order not to confuse the wait staff, we kept them. I eliminated some tables because I did not like the way they were set. As for the head table, I had a place card made up for Mr. & Mrs. M... Sweetheart Table.
