Brides close to their dads

Are you doing a mushy song or a fun one? I want to do My Girl by the temptations because it's fun, and my dad would like it. But it's not very emotional. I love my dad but I don't want to do an emotional song because I'll be a total mess. Anyone else feel this way?

i let him (which really meant my mom did) choose and they came up with Forever young, which is a song i love and i know we will be a mess, but oh well!

My dad and I are always joking and kidding so it would have seemed perfect to do a fun song but he LOVES Eric Clapton, so I surprised him by picking 'Wonderful Tonight' and he was so thrilled with my choice. Plus, I didn't want to take away from the special moment. JMO and the way I personally feel about my choice

Do you think the song My Girl would take away from the moment? I was also thinking Lullabye by Billy Joel.

Lullabye was almost my choice. I love Billy Joel.

We ended up with 'Because You Loved Me,' the Celine Dion version. Not too original but it was perfect.

When I think back on my relationship with my father, most of my memories involve laughter and fun in some capacity. I chose to use a more 'fun' song rather than a 'mushy' one because it felt more like us. I ended up choosing 'The Way You Look Tonight' by Frank Sinatra.

When I told my dad we were dancing to The Rainbow Connection b/c of our love of The Muppets, he asked me 'What about 'It's Not Easy Being Green'?'

He's got an odd sense of humor!!!

I'm extreamly close to my dad and was going back and forth between In My Daughter's Eyes and You Raise Me Up. The DH mentioned how original it would be to dance with my dad to the Beatles song 'Michelle' (which is my name!) I immediately fell in love with the idea and my dad was so surprised, he loved it!

My dad and I are like peas and carrots.

I didn't want him to be a gloppy mess so I picked an upbeat tune.. 'Isn't She Lovely'.

He ended up a gloppy mess anyway.

We are dancing to Daddys Little Girl by the Mills Brothers. I am truly a daddys girl in every sense, although I know I will be a big mess and probably make everyone else cry, we both love old songs like that. I have been waiting my entire life to dance to this song with my dad
