I don't know about you but my guest will not have the oppurtuinity to throw rice or petals. We're having an indoor reception. Our asile decor will be candles and I love the warmth of candlelight, I think it will be romantic.
Does anyone know the meaning of throwing petals/blowing bubbles etc.?

Re: Brides getting married @ RH
you could always have them blow bubbles during your first dance ...we did it at a wedding once and the pics looked amazing!
michelle i know you are in the process of converting so i just thought i'd tell you that throwing rice, birdseed, etc. had never been customary at Jewish weddings

Thanks Laura, I'm so unaware of traditional Jewish traditions, my formal classes start in the spring, so now it's just reading books & help from jewish friends like you thanks

I am not sure of the meaning of those but that link that someone posted explains it all. I just think people throw stuff because of tradition and because everybody else does it but not because it means anything to them. Personally I do not want bubbles, I think its kinda stupid. I am def doing the rose petals and rice and/or birdseed.

because we are doing the same place also, I was thinking of lining the aisle runner with candels and flowers also. I have seen pictures!
