I have heard mixed feelings about the bride going into cocktail hour-
some say its better to get saying hello over with in the cocktail hour and cuts down on having to go table to table.. other people say you really shouldnt show yourself until you are introduced.
I dont know what is better.... Opinions?

we are going to have to take pictures during cocktail hour. we do not want to see each other before the ceremony and we have no gap between the ceremony and cocktail hour since its all at the RH. so we must take pictures during that time. nervous. hope we have enough time for all the pictures i want. also, even if we did go to cocktail hour, i still feel i would want to go table to table. and i want to dance with every guest! hopefully we get to taste some of the cocktail hour food but really all i like is the cheese and fh knows no difference of what he is missing anyway!

I'm having my ceremony on cite so FH and I will be taking pictures during our cocktail hour; however, we extended it a half hour so we had time to join

Im going to cocktail hour. I really dont care about waiting to be introduced.....honestly... im paying an arm and a leg and i wanna eat drink and be merry with everyone!
and yes, ill be thanking some ppl and cutting down on table time!

I agree. We are doing all the pics before the ceremony just so we can go to the CH and enjoy it. I think we will probably be in the bridal suite for half of it and then join everyone for the CH. I would rather get all the meet & greet's over with before the party. JMO

I wouldn't mind being there for part of the CH.. gives me lots more time at the reception to spend dancing and eating/drinking imo.
Plus I think going from table to table can be a hassle in itself along with taking picutures during CH, etc. etc.

We are definetly going to our CH! I don't want to miss a minute of anything . Also, like some of the other ladies have said, its a perfect opportunity to get all of your greetings out of the way.

i'm soooo torn on this! under normal circumstances, i'd NEVER turn down an hour of drinking, but i think brides don't traditionally attend. i think FH and I will take photos during CH, althought he's dying to go to it.

We went to our cocktail hour. We didn't want to miss it since it was set up outside and the weather was gorgeous! It was nice that we got to greet some of our guests too, since many of them traveled far to be there with us that day and we didn't want to spend the entire reception greeting everyone.

We were originally going to, but then, we ended up having a receiving line at the church, which cut down on our need to really mingle. We did some formal shots at our hall when we got there, and released the bridal party into the CH. Our attendants brought us food and drinks in the suite and I'm so glad we did it that way. When we had our entrance, the house was rocking!

My FH and I are going to be at our cocktail hour partly to greet everyone and partly to be enjoy all that great food.
It's the best part of the reception, IMHO.

At first DH and I did not want to go to our CH- we thought our entrance wouldn't be as big of a deal. In the end, we decided to go because we wanted to do most of our hellos then and not during our reception. We like to dance and have a good time and didn't want to worry about saying hello to our guests - who weren't on the dance floor
It was one of the best decisions we made- we really enjoyed ourselves at our reception.

I think FH and I will head to cocktail hour if we finish up with our photos after the ceremony. its a good time to mingle with guest, since we really want to dance and enjoy the reception, but also have time to spend with each person there.

We'll probably take a few pictures at the begining of the CH but I definatly want to be there for some to greet people but also because of all the great food!!
