What do all of you ladies do for a living? Have you discussed your plan for working or stop working after marriage? Kids?
I have worked as a receptionist in Medical offices for many, many years and recently transitioned into nannying. I have been unemployed for about 2 months now and have been on a SERIOUS job hunt!! Weddings don't come cheap. Luckily, my FH has a great job and it is not mandatory I work but I would love to feel like I am contributing and take the sole burden off of him. For our future, I plan to get a job and work until we have children then I will be a stay at home mom.
P.S. If any of you ladies know of job openings LET ME KNOW! Thanks

I am a medical assistant at a dermatology practice. I'm also kind of looking for something else now that I'm realizing this money isn't going to cut it when we start house hunting. Like you, I feel like he's overcompensating for me when it comes to putting money away for a house/the wedding. I'll definitely still work when we get married. I'll take time off when we have kids though

I work in a medical office as a coordinator. The money is decent for now. FH has a 9 to 5 as well as starting up his own web business with a friend (which is doing VERY well).
I'm HOPING that once we're married and are ready for babies... that we'll be in a financial spot that will allow me to be a SAHM or possibly even work from home part time. I'd like to have two kids -hopefully twins- if not twins then I'd like to have them within a year or two of each other so I'm not out of work all THAT long... 7 years tops.

I want to have twins too! haha I always say that I plan on having twin girls
I will definitely still work after we're married (I'm a nanny too!) but I would love to stay home once we have kids for the first few years. Eventually, I plan on opening my own business - a childcare center out of our home - so that way I can still have an income and be home with our kids at the same time

I work in the restaurant industry, so my job has no benefits and is very inconsistent financially. I'm currently looking for a job that has benefits and is a salaried position, but unfortunately, people don't think that waitress=customer service rep, so it's pretty tough even getting interviews.
FH is a teacher, so I know we'll both be working when we first get married. Although I want kids, and I'd like to stay home with them when they are infants, I have no desire to make a career out of being a stay at home mom. I'm not judging people who choose that path, because I know it's more than a full time job, I'm just not very domestic, FH does most of the cleaning, bills, etc, so if either of us decided to be a stay at home parent long term, it would probably be him.
I know, that sounds weird, right? LOL

I work as a CAD designer in the fashion industry and FH works in sales for MBD. We plan on having kids, but we're totally going to let it happen on its own! I personally am very career oriented. I can't picture being a stay at home mom (my mom was the same way) so I'd totally be into hiring a nanny if you're still available by then lol

I currently do communications for a nonprofit organization and am pursing my Masters degree so I fully intend to work a full career. We do plan on having kids down the line so I might consider doing communications consulting so I can work part time or even flex hours but either way I will be working in some way shape or form.

I am currently finishing my masters in school counseling and I am an unpaid intern. I will absolutely be working before and after marriage. FH is a teacher, currently a substitute. We are young, and the job search is scary!

LI is expensive. We live in Suffolk County in Selden and housing is cheaper out here in comparison to Nassau so I am happy that we relocated before we get married and decide to purchase a house.

I'm a full time hairstylist at a busy 'top salon' on the north shore of Nassau county. FH has a nice union job working for the village we live in. I don't think i could ever stop working bc even though I'm good with money we can't seem to figure out where most of it goes... I think we just refuse to give up the lives we currently live, we would never survive on one income! Besides, we don't want kids. We are both awful with them and I have zero maternal instinct haha!

I am a medical receptionist for a Urology practice. I love my job, we are a little family (FH even proposed there!) It's not as much money as I would like but I get many perks from being there. I am also an Event Planner/Day of Coordinator on the side. Eventually I'd like to make that my full time job but I never know what the future holds. That being said, FH has a very good job & I hope that I may be able to stay home when I have children & possibly work from home or on my own schedule. I don't know if I will be able to do that on LI but one can dream right?

I work part time at an educational farm where I teach adults and kids mostly about different farm animals and how to raise some of them in your backyard. I'm also a part time nursing student, graduating in May so hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be in a hospital or home care/nursing home/ANYWHERE haha. Luckily FH works for the gas company and we feel very lucky that he has such a stable job.

I work as a residential counselor at YAI in a program for adults with developmental disabilities and/or autism. I absolutely LOVE my job.. there is so much room to grow... and we are ALWAYS hiring. We have a referred hiring program, so I can get you a job if you're interested.
One of the perks about my job is that it's a 24/7 company.. so when we decide to have kids, I can move from Full-Time PM (2:30 - 10:30pm) to Full-Time Overnights (10:30pm - 6:30am), Full-Time AM (6:30am - 2:30pm) or just Per Diem and just pick up shifts any time of the day or night... and there are ALWAYS available shifts, so if I choose to work a full 40 hour week, I can! It is a government funded job so the benefits are INCREDIBLE and there is always overtime available. I work overtime almost every single week! FM me if you're interested.

I am a full time teacher at St. Joseph's in Ronkonkoma!!! :) love love love my job!! I am one class away and graduating in may with 2 masters!! :) although working in a catholic school pays less than a public school, I still work full time, work 180 days a year and have summers off with pay!! :) During the summer I usually tutor and work in an office part time for some extra $$$$ I would love to stay home with my kids in the future, FH and his brother both have an online marketing company as well as full time jobs. So if their business builds and he can work from home, then he will. I have a great job though for kids because I'm off all their holidays and once they are old enough can come to work with me! :) we also plan on living close by my parents and once the day comes for kids my mom plans on drastically altering her working schedule so she can be with them!!! :)
my school is looking for a temporary aide in the kindergarten room from now until may! :) our aide is out on medical leave!!

I'm a nurse on an orthopedic/trauma floor :) Currently, I work nights so my sleep habits are always off. IDK what I'm going to do the week before the wedding. I want to take some time to let my body adjust but I also want to take time for our honeymoon (we have to take our honeymoon 4 weeks after the wedding bc my FH is a teacher). Here's also a deliema- I want my family nurse practitioner license asap bc we want kids. So I'm not sure if I should wait to get started on getting my FNP. I feel like the answer will come to me in time. I just have to wait it out and see :)
