Mine is ivory/champagne and I LOVE it. White does not look good on me so I went with what did. I can't believe that it is still considered taboo!

Re: brides wearing ivory??
When its by itself (IE not next to white) I cant tell the difference anyway.
I bet no one would even notice.

Re: brides wearing ivory??
Totally going ivory. I look green and sickly in white. Funny thing is I actually wanted to go a shade darker and get my dress in sand... but I had to compromise with my mom somewhat...which now that I think of it is crazy...I am 35 for petes sake

Re: brides wearing ivory??
Im wearing ivory because it looked better with my skin tone. I know more people who've worn ivory than white. None of my friends wore white

I'm also wearing ivory and unless you are standing next to someone in white you can't even tell the difference. It is much more flattering on me since I'm very pale.

Not a fan of the bright white either, that is why I ordered ivory (of course to my mothers dismay but what else is new)

Re: brides wearing ivory??
I am wearing ivory because it looked better on me and I liked the gold beading as opposed to the silver beading. I don't think it looks that different from white - maybe just a little warmer.

Re: brides wearing ivory??
I'm wearing ivory, but not because of propriety. I'm pretty fair and white just looks bad on me. But I think it's totally fine for anyone to wear white or ivory, whichever they prefer. Do what makes you happy!

I am wearing Ivory because the diamond white gowns I tried on looked funny on me, IMO you can't tell the difference.

IMO, no one will ever know the difference between ivory and white unless you tell them.
My ivory dress looks white to me
Exactly-no one will no the difference.

Re: brides wearing ivory??
I figured I'd put myself out there to make you all laugh.....
I was driving with my mom (a Very strict Catholic) and her cousin one day before my sister's wedding, and her cousin asked her what color is Christina's (my sister) dress???? ' White Of Course!', my mom said.... Her cousin then proceeds to say, 'She's a Virgin????' and yet again... 'Of Course She Is!!!', my mom said... 'Right Gina???' as she is glaring at me... So with the straightest face that I can give, I reluctanly (for the sake of my mom) said, ' Of course she is mom'.... Then my mom added... 'Unlike Gina.... She's wearing IVORY!!!! '.... So her cousin started laughing, and I was mortified... Granted FH and I have been living together for 4 years now, but it's still a touchy subject with her.... Even when we first moved in together she thought we were going to get twin beds .... I then told her that we weren't the Cleavers....

I am wearing ivory because white made me look too pasty and ivory was sooo gorgeous.
