Brides with guest lists of 175 - 200 - what's your budget?

And how did you stick to it?

I was initally thinking $15K but it seems more like $25K - $30K.

The halls we have visited have been between $51 - $125 pp (plus tax/grat) and we want to stick to $75pp or less.

Then there are other items:
photos
video
flowers
limos
dress
tux
bridal party gifts
invites
etc............

We are in the same situation as far as the guest list goes and the amount of money that we are looking to spend pp at a hall.

We original wanted to do something TOTAL for $20,000...right now that is not possible. We are now estimating (and thats with cutting corners) $27,000 - $30,000.

I think we have alot of redeciding on certain factors...

As far as paying for everything...we've been saving for a year now, and will continue doing the same up until the wedding. We just have to remember that everything we want we may not be able to have. I see lots of crafting taking place in the near future...basically what it comes down to is if its over what we want to spend...look somewhere else or forget about it...

we have the same size guest list, and i was orignally trying to stay under $23K, but now it'll be $25K, maybe over that, and that doesn't include the honeymoon or rings.

it's hard to stay within that budget, but there are certain things we don't really need...like the vienese hour - after the CH and dinner, and wedding cake, i think everyone will be stuffed anyway.

I had a guest list of about 210 but ended up with about 175 that RSVPed yes. I saved money with the flowers. I had very simple centerpieces that ended up only costing me about $15.00 a piece. The tux is usually free for the groom. As far as limos, the cermony was at the reception hall so I only needed a drop off and pick up. I have a fantastic website for beautiful invitations that I save A LOT of money with. FM me if you would like any info.

My guest list is at 210 now, but (as you know ) our minimum for the Dome Room is 175. I wanted our budget to be MAX $20K, but in all reality, it's going to be about $25-27K. I am going to try and keep it beloew $25, but it's going to be tough.

We are (as of now) paying for it all by ourselves. My dad said he'd give us about $1K and I have not even asked my mom yet.

I wish I had a picture to share but I don't have one scanned. They were round vases with red pebbles on the bottom with a large votive candle in the middel. I had red and white roses floating in them surrounded by rose petals and more votive candles.

I'm computerless for this vacation. My mom has a computer but Iwe are staying at my dad's house.

I expected my dad to give us check but after his complaints I do not think he is giving it to us now. I can't even ask my mom for money though - wouldn't even think of it. We will be paying for it all on our own. I wanted to stick to $25K but that may mean cutting the list.

I plan on having candles and rose petals of some sort. My mom sees no reason to spend $2000 on flowers so I will likely only have flowers for the bridal party and then simple centerpieces.

For Monday 10/10/05 we only had to have 150 for a day wedding using the skylight room and Dome room

with everything, it is turning out to be a bit over $50K.

Okay, so maybe we do need to plan for 2006. Geesh. I originally thought 2/19/06 in Mexico but that may end up being the summer of 2006 if we do NY with 125 - 195 people.

Maybe they won't all come? Then again, they caravan to NY NJ & Atlanta for house warming parties and birthday parties so they would come to NY for a wedding.
