Bridesmaid Dress opinions

Original post by NYCMeghan

I think I've narrowed it down to 2 options. What do you al think of either of these dresses (in black)?

#1)

(I can't post this in black as my company won't let me on the Davids Bridal site!!)

#2)

I'm leaning towards the 2nd one, but am not 100% sure. What do you all think?

I like #1, I am more traditional also! Also if you have any girls that are chesty (like myself) I would not be comfortable in #2, I like it but I think I would be checking cleavage all day--sorry JMO

Also, check Victoria's Secret, this dress:

Is available in black, and it's only $99.
There's also this one, which is only $89. I think it's perfect for a beach wedding

someday - thanks!! I really like the 2nd black dress

not a big fan of strapless, plus I have several different shapes in my BP that would throttle me if I asked them to wear a strapless dress....

Here are a few from Jessica McClintock (they're all available in black)

Ah...just read that you don't like strapless, after I added more :( Sorry! Let me see what else I can find.

It matters what the lace is like on it (I would check it out up close and personal) - I love #2

More JM. I like a lot of her dresses, but i must admit, the picture quality on her site stinks, and sometimes the dresses look completely different in the store.

someday - how $$ are JM dresses? I remember looking at them for another friends BP and think we were looking at some dresses in the $200 range...

Re: Bridesmaid Dress opinions

The ones I was looking at in the JM store in the mall were about $120. She doesn't list prices on her website though, so I'm guessing these dresses are $100-$150ish. A lot of the non bridesmaid dresses are available at Macy's, so maybe you could get them on sale?
Edited to add: I was looking at tea length dresses there a few months ago. The longer dresses might be more $$.

Depends on the formality of your wedding and what you're wearing. 2 is too short for a formal affair IMO.

you might want to look at this by morilee, i am getting it cuz all my girls are way different sizes and i didn't want the strapless thing either.BTW, it is $140 list so you could get it from netbride a lot cheaper.

Chiming in to vote for #1, I like the #2 dress, but it not that formal IMO. If you have a black tie wedding, you may have guests come in more formal dresses than your BMs.

I like #1. . .I wore the same dress in black as a bridesmaid and then my mom cut and hemmed it and lowered the neckline a little and I've worn to about 4 weddings as a guest!!!
