Bridesmaid dress shopping!

Hi girls,
Tomorrow I am going bridesmaid dress shopping with my sister and bff. They are both coming home for the weekend and I don't know when they'll be home again. Is it normal to go in groups with bridesmaids to order dresses? I feel like I'm going to end up making 3 or 4 trips and I just wondered if any of you have had the same situation. Help!

I might have to do several trips too which stinks b/c the dress place is an hour from me. One is OOT, one i college, one about to have a baby, one in NYC and one who just had a baby. So who knows if I will ever be able to get everyone together.

Yeah, my sister-MOH just left for college and my BFF is OOT. All my other BM are here, but most are in school and working so getting us together is impossible. This is why I want to order now even though its probably a little bit early. Plus, then they won't have to lay out all the money around the same time. Its really hard when BM are not in the same place in their lives as you are. I'm sure we'll get it done. Where are you getting your dresses from?

I've only been shopping with my sister who is my MOH... after we narrow down our choices to like 3 or 4 dresses i'll have the rest of the girls 'vote' on which one will be final. Then I would assume they would individually or in a group go back to the store to get fitted.

Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point. They are soooo nice there and very helpful. I am also getting my dress there

I went three times...Once with one BM, once with another...once with 3 BMs...but, they were all choosing their own styles...two of the girls, who I went with separately, are mom's and they're schedules are tough...the time I went with three though, was the most fun, my sister, and two friends, we all hang out all the time, so, it was a good time, and they got to see me in my dress...and then we went to eat!

One morning myself, all four of my bridesmaids and my MOH went to the store. We went at 10am when NO ONE was there yet. Since I had already picked out a skirt (we did seperates) they just had to choose tops. They hit the racks like a pack of pirannas and took about 85% of the tops they had off the rack in a whirlwind, leaving the rest hanging patheticly, half-off the hangers. It was a hysterical sight.

In about an hour and a half they had all picked out their tops. Then we went to another shop to place the orders. So all in all it took us under three hours and they all look friggin fantastic!!!

There is a pic of them in my album.

Good Luck!!!!

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping!

Thank you ladies for your help!!! My sister-MOH ended up not going so my BM Trish and I went to order yesterday. Next week I'm going to try to bring two or three of my girls and then the last few. It's stressful getting them together in the same place at the same time. Trish has been so great, she lives in DC and has come up a few times a month and always calls me and is like what can we do for the wedding? She's really on top of things. I was worried that she might not want to be a BM because of the OOT status, but she has been the best!!!!

If any of you are interested:
The dress we chose is Saison Blanche-style number 2072 in sage green with champagne sash. My sister will either be wearing coral with sage green sash or the sage green with a coral sash. We ordered through Burton's-they didn't carry the sample but we had tried it on elsewhere and got the best price from Burton's.
