Are you giving your girls options for dresses in the color you want? i want all my girls to be comfortable but i also don't it to be a free for all with dresses.. what do you think? TIA

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses

At first I wanted them to choose whatever felt most comfortable (I only have a MOH and 2 BMs). But then FH was adamant about them all wearing the same dress (he is such a Groomzilla! ) So, I have a few dresses in mind that I like and I'll leave it up to them to come to an agreement.

Hiii date twin!!! Welcome!

Ehh this is a touchy subject, or could be. I am far too specific in what I wanted... I think that allowing them to choose their dresses in your color choice can end up in hysteria. YOu probably will run into situations that will be a little more stressful- what if your BM chooses a dress that you dont like? YOu have to then be the meanie to say ' ewwww... not allowed' ... and risk hurting her feelings. If you are ok with doing that then go for it.

Either way, this i your day and you have to be happy with the dresses. Good luck and happy planning!!

THANKS! that's the date we're going for just trying to confirm everything!!!

thanks for the help

i know that in one of the weddings i was in i wasn't comfortable in my dress, and i don't want my girls to feel that way. we aren't too worried about uniformity but i'll have to play it by ear. i am going today to look at some BM dresses. are you having the MOH in a different dress so she stands out?

hello and welcome! What if you picked out a couple of options from them in the same designer and fabric (so the color is identical) and let them choose between those? That way, they still get a choice, but you are happy with the options?

OH ok well good luck!!!

I was originally alll hung up on have the MOH in a differnet style or something stand out-ish on her dress... BUT recently, I posted about this also, I decided to forget that idea and let her stand out with a bigger bouquet in different flowers

thanks! I do have to say this...working in a bridal salon I have seen so many girls come in with their bridesmaids and leave so upset and miserable. The other night this poor girl was their with 5 bms and they were just stepping all over.. 'I dont want this..' 'this is ugly' 'eww...' 'Fine, whatever...'

She almost left in tears. My strongest suggestion if you want all the girls in one dress is pick a couple to go see with one or 2 bms. Then just say THIS IS IT! I felt so bad for her!

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses

I went to a wedding where all the BMs had to wear the exact same color from the same designer (J. Crew) but were allowed to pick out the dress they wanted. I thought it was a great idea, but I personally didn't like the way it looked. I plan on having my BM's wear the same dress, but in different colors for fall.

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses

i think i'm going have some variety, but i want everyone in the same color/fabric/silhouette. so it's a level of choice within a-line, moss satin gowns.

LOL... ok maybe I'm just a 'Bridezilla' but nope... the dresses only need to be approved in color and style by my MOH - and the rest will all just have to go with it. I want them in all the same dresses, color & style. But I've already promised that I will take into account what will fit everyone nicely... I want them to look gorgeous too!

I know how that girl felt! I love my BMs, but they all have an opinion and have no problem telling me it! I want them all to be happy, but BM dress shopping is much more stressful than my dress shopping!
