Hi 2013 brides!! I need some help, I want to use the color purple for my wedding. I want to get things done this summer since I am off but, I feel like I must pick a bridesmaid dress first. I love purple but I am unsure on a shade. I am a july wedding so I don't know if a dark purple is too much. I ideally want a violet/lavender but don't want it too light either. Any of you brides have BM in a shade of purple you love? If so would you mind sharing the designer/color. Thank you so much!

I was in a wedding in august and we wore dark purple. Also a friends bridesmaids dresses were black in june. Colors don't have to be season specific.
my cousin just did this color at her wedding in june and it was gorgeous. It wasn't TOO light where it looked almost pink and I thought it was a very pretty purple.
What fabric are you thinking because I feel like certain purples would work but only if it was a satin or taffeta dress. I feel like certain fabrics change the color.

Im not doing purple but I just wanted to say that you should pick the color you want and not go based on the season. Im getting married in July and picked navy because that's the color I wanted. If you want deep purple then go for it!

I am getting married this nov and using a dark plum color. My bridesmaid dresses at by Wtoo (a divison of Watters) the color is called plum (duh lol) in the silk fabric. It is a pretty dark deep purple/eggplant color.

Impressions Bridesmaids and I am doing Aubergine. If you go to RK Bridal on 39th street in NYC, they have swatch books you can look at. Make sure you order all the dresses at the same time to get the same dye lot. Wisteria was also a pretty lavender color that I considered at David's Bridal, but not every style came in the color. Hope this helps!

My girls will be wearing Bari Jay dresses in the color eggplant. They purchased them at RK Bridal. We got to see a lot of different designers and see all the shades in person. Like the other bride said, they also have books of color swatches so u can see.
Also, like some of the brides said, don't base the color of the dress on the season. If you want a darker shade of purple go for it! You can always brighten it up with the bouquets!
