I am getting married on December 1st, 2012. I want to incorporate the Christmas season into my wedding, however I feel everyone is expecting me to get red or green dresses for my girls. I was thinking a champagne/gold color with red flowers. Do you think that would be too 'gawdy'? My cousin already commented that champagne would look 'dirty' against my white dress. What do you think? I think it's a pretty combo, but don't want it to look cheap!

I think the right shade and material of champagne/nude dresses will look BEAUTIFUL next to your white dress and red flowers. Google pictures of Jessica Simpson's 1st wedding to Nick Lachey...they had nude colored bridesmaids...it very nice.

I think this sounds like a really nice combination! i love champagne colored bridesmaid dresses and they flatter everyone :) it will be very nice with red roses for the season

Champaigne is in the gold family...i was in a wedding with 6 other BM, the pics were great!

I was in my cousin's wedding Dec 3rd of last year and we did pewter, if was very pretty and perfect for that time of year
I was thinking of a pewter color maybe platinum. The gold/champagne wouldn't look dirty at all I think it will look really nice and not at all the stereotype Christmas wedding.

I'm loving the combo, we haven't started BM shopping yet but I am SO EXCITED for it! I've been looking at so many gold accented things, I just love the color for the season!:)

A friend of mine is doing a December wedding and her dresses are pewter.
However, don't list to your cousin and do what makes YOU happy. I think gold/champagne/ whatever would look lovely.

I had to wear a champagne color bm dress for a november wedding amd I honestly did not like it bc it was a very light shade if it had been darker I wouldnt have minded so much but I looked very washed out and it was not flattering def go for a darker shade
