I'm picking the color and most likely letting the girls pick the style BUT I want everyone's dress to be the same length. either all floor length or all tea length.

do you have pictures of your ideas? trying to imagine the same dress in different materials, shades, necklines, etc. is hard to do without seeing it

i don't like the idea of mixing materials and lengths ...
it's fine to have different dresses and straps though (obv as long as they're all the same color)

Doing the same thing except MOHS will have long dresses and BM's will have short dresses. Also, it has to be the same material b/c when it's not, the color tends to be different

hmm...i like the first one not the second one. maybe b/c the colors are so bold in the second one
like i think the 1st one works - w/ how u want to mix things up...but the second one, not so much. it doesn't seem to blend nicely to me

No, I would do same material. If I wanted to do different, I would pick all the dresses.
If you let bridesmaids 'interpret' cobalt blue, you may get a whole slew of different blues!

No, I would do same material. If I wanted to do different, I would pick all the dresses.

ITA! the idea of mixing up gives the bm's the option to select their own style, but i think keeping to the same material and color is imperative.

My friend whtevjenny (09 bride) had all her girls go to Davids and pick out something that flattered them in the same color and length. They all chose different ones and they all looked great! And her pictures came out fabulous with them! I say go for it

looking at the pictures i think it would be too chaotic FOR ME. I am someone who likes balance and symmetry so the different dresses would bug me... but i like how other girls suggested picking a length, material, and color and letting girls decide the style. Then it would have some cohesion and style while still allowing personal choice
