Bridesmaid luncheons....do Mom's come??

If I am hosting a lunch for my bridesmaids, (taking them out actually) are the mom's supposed to come?? My FMIL just flat out asked me if #1 I was hosting one (because she obviously has no faith in my ability to show some class), and #2 is she invited.

Its up to you. I had all the bridesmaids meet one time to pick out their dresses and then I bought them all lunch. I didn't ask the moms to come to that. I asked the moms to come with me for my dress and the fitting and we went out to lunch. I tried to pay but my mom fought me and won. She refused to let me pay.

Hmm..I'm going this weekend to get my BM dresses. Is it rude of me to not take them this weekend?

Its up to you. I didn't bring the moms when the bridesmaids went to pick out their dresses because I think it would have been too many people and too many opinions. I just wanted it to be the bridesmaids and my little get together. You do whatever you want. You can bring the moms when you go for your dress.

Moms are often invited to BM luncheons but it is not a must- it is up to the bride and her budget. I wanted to do a bridal tea but my BMs have stolen my idea and since I didn't want a traditional bachlorette party they have decided to do that for me. Now I will just get them an additional gift for their spa boxes.

I like the idea of spending time with just the BM. But, I will invite my mom, my FH mom and stepmom. My mom is helping with the shower and doing just as much, if not more, than by BM and I feel she should be thanked just as much as them. And, b/c I'm inviting her I don't want to leave out my FHs moms.

Are you telling your BM ahead of time - or is it a surprise?? Mine all live out of town, so I'm going to do it the day before the weddig when they're here after we get our manicures. Should I tell them now?

Hi, I have a quick question... When I first got engaged, my MOH said she wanted to throw me a bridal luncheon... is the Bride the one who is supposed to pay? I am so confused But to answer the question about the moms, when my MOH mentioned the luncheon, she said it was just a get together of JUST bridesmaids, no moms... I dont know if that helps any

The bride pays for the bridal luncheon- she is hosting it as a way of thanking her BMs. According to the etiquette books that I read moms MAY be invited, but are not required to be invited.
