Bridesmaid poem
I plan on asking two of my cousins to be bridesmaids this weekend. One is 13 and the other is 14. This is the poem I'm going to put in the card for the 13 year old:
Ever since you were a little girl,
People were saying that you and I were much the same.
Maybe they were talking about our giant feet, the stilts we call legs, or the hair we have in curls,
But I think the one thing that really ties us together is that clumsiness is our claim to fame.
I know how hard it is not to trip on your own feet,
And believe me, gracefulness is not something we have in our blood,
But on October 11, 2009, I’d rather not have you sitting in a seat.
If you can manage to walk without causing a thud,
I would love for you to stand beside me and be my bridesmaid.
