Originally FH and I were doing 5 and 5, since then I thought of three women I forgot to add. My new plan is to have the BM/MOH walk together, and have 2 bridesmaids per groomsmen to walk down the aisle...
Is 8 BM's too much? Does that sound like a dumb idea? Am I gonna screw up the pictures? Any suggestions?

I don't think that 8 Bridesmaids is too much...I have 8 bridesmaids. My FH has 6 guys so we will be uneven. I think it is important to have whoever means the most to you standing with you and if that means uneven, so be it. My opinion is that you should do what you feel is right for you guys!

I agree! We are in the same boat....I have 9 girls and FH/ has 6 guys (as of now)...but you just make it work! Normally this asymmetry would irritate me but it just doesn't!
I think you should select who you want without worrying about how it will look.. if these are girls that you want to be your BMs, you should ask them. Someone I know added two GMs after two other GMs dropped out...I thought it was pretty rude, because the two 'replacements' were people that are close to her, and if she wanted them in, she should have asked them initially.
But anyway, I don't think uneven bridal parties look bad.. and I doubt most of your guests will even notice.

I have 7... dont feel bad.. its your day and you work it out however you want to... the only thing ppl will be looking at is u and your groom anyways

Hi ladies, I'm new to the site and had to reply to this post! I agree with what everyone said about having the people who are closest to you, despite the uneven bridal party. Actually, I have 11 BM's and my FH has 4 groomsmen!! I already warned my photographer and she said she'll work with it. So many people have said 11 is too much and it's crazy to have such an uneven bridal party, but it's my wedding and these are the people I want in it! Hope that makes you feel better!
