Bridesmaid...SMH
Update for you ladies...I contacted my rogue BM and expressed how I felt about her not attending the shower and that it hurt me. I expressed to her that I wanted to be surrounded by positivity and support. I was careful in the way I worded it and polite. Her only reply was 'however you feel. good luck to you and your fiancé'

Trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel and at least you know now where she stands as well as where your friendship with her stands. Although my best friend was going through a bad time when I was planning my wedding I was very understanding and very supportive. She jumped on it when I gave her an out because of all what she was going through and I get it. But the communication became less frequent and one sided and I never thought on such an important day that she would not be there for me as I have always been there for her (regardless of what was going through my personal life bad or good) I'm so sorry you are going through this but I rather you surround yourself with family and friends who are genuinely happy for you and want the best for you than people that may be jealous or not happy with their life that they can not be happy for anyone else. Trust me when I say because the wound is still fresh it will hurt, but on your special day when you see all those that showed up for you and your husband, things worked out exactly the way it should have. Big hug sweetie! Sssqqquuuueeezzzeee Please don't let this hiccup steal your thunder.

Wow that's really messed up. I'm sorry but she doesn't sound like she is happy for you. You don't need the negativity in ur life. I would watch out for her cause u don't want her to start more trouble. Or talk crap. Pretty much do anything to make the rest of the process miserable. If she is so unhappy she shouldn't attend anything. She is being really selfish. U have more important things to focus on. I would ignore her and act like it doesn't phase u cuz that's what she wants a reaction

See, this is why I wanted you to really think if you wanted her in your wedding because she's letting you know that she really only wants to focus on her. This is not a reflection on anyone but herself and now your day can run smoother. I would make it clear that she's no longer in the wedding party and your sorry that it's ended the way it has. You shouldn't have to deal with any of this nonsense and she is actually helping you in the long run - now you wont have to see her in all your pictures and you wont have to worry about her drama... do YOU - focus on YOU and those that love and truly want to be a part of your day. So glad you took my advice and contacted her - just wanted you to see the real person behind the face. Sometimes the people we have known forever know exactly how to hurt us in the end.. YOU be better than her and move forward in a positive light - plus im sure FH is thrilled now neither of you have to deal with her sass...

Well said! My husband knew how much it hurt me with my best friend not being a part of our special day whatsoever, however everything went so smoothly and he was very happy that we did not have to deal with any drama.

I'm sort of dealing with that, too. One of my bridesmaids actually replied, 'ewww' when I told her we booked a band. She went on and on about how a band is 'tacky' and 'cheesy' and I should get a DJ instead (of course it's the DJ SHE chose for her wedding.) So I stopped telling her anything about the wedding. There is zero drama surrounding my own wedding plans so while I'm annoyed that she would openly mock and belittle my choices, I've decided to just not give her anything to criticize! However, a bridesmaid who isn't coming to the shower is ridiculous. I've been in many weddings and that's one thing that you kind of can't bail on (unless it's for a real reason, then it's totally understandable.)
I would call her on it.

I just wanted to thank you ladies who posted your advice, support and kind words. I took a step back for a few days and feel MUCH better about the situation. I’m saddened by her decision and behavior, but I don’t have a knot in my stomach anymore when I think about getting ready with all my girls the morning of my wedding. Now, I’m excited and looking forward to every minute! 54 days!! Can’t wait!!

Oh my goodness I am so sorry that it terrible!! This is why I only have a couple older cousins in my bridal party. The girl should have never agreed to being in your wedding if she did not want to do stuff. It is about YOU!!! not them.
