I need your help. One of my close friends is going to be one of my Bridesmaids but she has several tattoos all around her body. I asked if she wouldn't mind covering them up but she said no because she doesn't want the make up to run if she gets sweatly. Any suggestions as to how I might get her to cover up a bit? The dresses that I like will all showcase her tattoos. She has a big one on he arm that I'm really nervous about.

tell her that don't worry about it running. If you get dermablend, the stuff is very thick. I used it for my cousin's wedding b/c his wife wanted me to cover up my tattoos. I was dancing all night (in July) and it didn't run a bit.

How about a long sleeve dress? You could get away with it in APril.

That is what I was going to say. Also if you are having airbrush makeup that will cover it up. I went to a wedding in florida & the makeup lady at a salon used regular foundation to cover it up & you couldn't see it. She got married on a hot day & it didn't run at all.
On the other hand unfortunately if she doesn't want to cover them up it is sort of her decision. You choose her becuase you want her to be in your BP and you have to take her the way she is. The best bet I think is the shawls especially for the pics if she doesn't want to cover them up.

Dermablend definitely won't run. Pam Anderson used it on Baywatch to cover her tatoos...and she was in the water. So...I guess it will hold up against sweat.

Thanks guys for all of your suggestions. Of course if she doesn't want to cover them I won't make a big deal about it because her friendship is more important to me. But I was just concerned about the pictures and the tattoos looking awkward with a beautiful dress.

Re: Bridesmaid Tattoo
I have a tattoo smack between my shoulder blades. My faith does not permit me to have them but I am quite the rebel - YEAH RIGHT. Anyway, I decided to cover it with my dress rather than use make up because it is rather dark and no amount of make up would really mask it. I am also freckled on my back and a make up artist would have to create freckles or id look as if I had one big spot in the middle of my back.

Wear a long sleeve dress or find make up that will not run.

I wouldn't ask her to cover up her tattoos. Sorry, just IMO. I would still stick with the dresses that you like though.

Re: Bridesmaid Tattoo
Try a shawl, or dermablend, but personally I think she said that about the make up running b/c she doesn't want to cover it. Did you think of that? Really I don't hink you should have her cover it up, b/c it is a part of her

Re: Bridesmaid Tattoo
I could see why you want to cover the tattoos but really it's not going to make the pics look bad...like everyone said those tats are part of her it would be weird not to see them in the pics. JMHO

I would have all of the girls wear wraps for the ceremony and maybe pictures, but I wouldn't ask her to put makeup on it. If that was something she wanted to do on her own, then fine, but it doesn't seem like she really wants to and I don't think you should push the issue.

I was going to say she really doesn't have a choice and make her cover up the tattos I have one on my shoulder and I used Dermablend and nothing ran all night even w/ people constantly putting there arms around me to hug me and everything.

Have you asked your photographer if he does airbrushing? He might be able to airbrush them out of the pictures

Re: Bridesmaid Tattoo
Dermablend did NOT work at all for me....the lady at Ulta tried it the other day and it just made a blurry mess!!!
Fantasia Bridal does havea kit they say really works......
but if she doesnt want to cover them up,then really all you can do is get a shawl i think
