I have been corresponding with another makeup artist and working on scheduling a trial with her, she charges a much more reasonable rate for both trial and day-of, and doesn't charge traveling fees! When I forwarded her prices to one of my bridesmaids, she said that that was too much for her to pay, and that she probably wouldn't go for it because she didn't 'pay that much for A's wedding.' Is $75 for a bridesmaid a lot, or is she being really unreasonable and difficult?
I would tell her to worry about her own makeup, but I need to have at least 3 of my bridesmaids book with her, or else I would have to pay a lot more for my own makeup.Has anyone charged less for a bridesmaid?

Even if it was 40 dollars, it's still the BMs choice to have make up done or not...if her doing it really lowers yours significantly, then maybe offer to offset the cost for her? Also, maybe the mothers could count towards the 3 required?

Re: bridesmaid vent
I sent an email out to all of them with the pricing sheet and asked them if it was too much, to let me know. I don't want to pay for them, but I do want to know if at least 3 of them are willing to book with her so I get the discount. I emailed 2 or 3 other vendors to have them send me their pricing lists, too.
Has anyone heard of bridesmaids paying $40 or $50?

ITA! Find out if your mother or MIL is interested in makeup. You can't make the girls get makeup. I can't comment on price bc I either did my makeup myself or my mom/sis did it. A friend of mine offered to pay a portion of the hair for instance but some people say offer all or nothing.

I am not requiring my girls to get their makeup and hair done if they don't want to. I was not comfortable making them pay another 175 (hair and makeup)
Most of them are getting their hair done but only half are getting their makeup

I think makeup is a lot cheaper when your girls get it done at the salon and the artist doesn't have to travel. I've found nothing below 75-100 either, but I'm not requiring my girls to do it. The two that want it said they could handle $50, and so I'm paying the extra 25 each, mainly because I need someone there to do mine!!

Yeah, my sister is taking a class and learning to apply her own makeup, I told her that would be fine. I don't want to make the girls pay for something they either don't want or can't afford, I just want to give them the option. Sandra Baldini was the one who gave me that great price for booking with 3 bridesmaids. I guess if I can't get 3 of them on the deal, I'll have to look for a makeup person who charges less.
